jSecure Authentication Popular Plugin

Drawback: Joomla has one drawback, any web user can easily know the site is created in Joomla! by typing the URL to access the administration area (i.e. www.site name.com/administration). This makes hackers hack the site easily once they crack id and password for Joomla!. Information: jSecure Authentication module prevents access to administration (back end) login page without appropriate access key.

Great straightforward extension!!
Easy to install, easy to use.
When key got lost, access your website through ftp, rename this file /plugins/system/jsecure.php and one has access to the backend again. Set the parameters again, rename the file back, and enable the plugin.
Uninstall one does through extensions - install/uninstall.
Can't be more eassier!!

although you cant hide from web developer which cms you use but 50 % of site traffic are interested in what you use..and to keep them guessing this is what you use..

Simple Yet Powerful. Such a straight forward extension!!! Great extension!!!
I did try to post this on the support site but for whatever reason registration wasn't working. An excellent plugin but it doesn't work in Google Chrome. I don't know why. Fortunately if it didn't work even for me then I guess the admin area was safely blocked !

This is really an excellent plugin, this really helps to hide, what type of CMS we are using.

Great Contribution.

Thanks a Lot..

This does exactly what it says, the "readme" is clear enough, even for an beginner like me.
Thank you VERY much for this.

This is one of the first plugins that I always install when making a new Joomla site. The readme that is included with the .zip is straightforward, and tells you exactly how to use this great extension. Thanks a bunch to the developers.

Cheers.

That is the main component,I plead every j users to use...
This plug-in is very nice, but since I have a problem of install/uninstall, I try to post on the forum, but I can not have access ! So, now I don't know how to do, I can uninstall Jsecure properly, I can not install it back and I can not find it in Plug-in manager and can not find it in My SQl !
So I am in a very bad position without any support !!! What's the matter and what can I do, my website is not secure...
Hey, great feature, Just save the Authentication key as part of the back end admin site link and it makes no difference to you, but people will not find your admin page.

Awesome!!!

This is a fantastic extension. Just make sure that you write down your jSecure key somewhere. Once you get used to using it, it's a piece of cake.

Really good idea, and very usefull.
This plugin does exactly what it says it does.

The documentation says "the key can **ONLY** contain alphanumeric values. PLEASE dont use numeric values." The statement should be "no leading numeric value". Example: x12345 is good. 5abcde is bad.
It would also be nice if the author had filled in the description fields in the xml file so that rollovers provided the information rather than telling the user to view a readme file.

Recommended, great pluf-in. Marvelous invention chaps. All the best. Chin, chin!
My first goal with any Joomla! project is to not make it look/act like default Joomla! This plugin certainly helps with that. Works perfectly!
Why is it that when you go to Joomla Service provider's website and you select "documentation" what comes on top of the article is: "How to Uninstall jSecure Authentication"?

Go to their forum and you will see many who installed the plugin asking help on how to unistall it.

My experience: (like many others) I installed it and then I could not get to my admin site.
Simple to install. Just upload and install via Joomla's plugin manager. Then, create a security key (and make sure you have a copy of it somewhere handy that no one can get to!), pick a 404 page and save. That's it! If you go to the site without the proper key, you don't get access to the backend.

Very nice!
