The basis of any business is its clients, present and future. By means of JUser you can create individual user registration form, with unlimited number of fields considering the information necessary for your particular business.
If you are in need to gather the information about your users there is no sense to install complicated components creating users’ profiles. JUser is a simple but at the same time very powerful tool helping you to gather the information about your users.
See the trick is not only to gather additional information but make it usefully for marketing or promotion. JUser will analyze this information and give you out the full report diagrammed. What you need this for? This function is indispensable for your marketing purposes. For example basing on such data as age, sex, occupation, country you can define the group of users your site is mostly interesting for. Or You can learn the percent of the target group you oriented your business to of the whole users. Or just see the progress of users registration for given period of time. All reports are available in a form of diagrams and Excel tables.

The tool is useful, extended fields, integration with existing Joomla user database, user import, simple massmail newsletters(?). All in all good for Joomla 1.0.15. Not useful for Joomla 1.5 though. The Joomla 1.5 version is a different product not called Juser and is commercial.
Initially I got an install error due to permissions, the component wanted to drop an image into administrator/images (why is that necessary?) ...
Once I fixed that, it installed fine... only it doesn't work.. when I go to the jUser component all I see is this, on a blank white page..

I browsed some forums and I saw someone ask the question about this, someone asked them what version of Joomla they had and the topic died, the person replied with their version and there's not been a single response since.
notice the last couple of reviews have been single stars... I think this may have been a good component at one time.. but it is lacking at this point.
Also.. the admin screens are messed up in IE7, they have been for at least two years now (We used this on a Joomla 1.0 site before)
Once I fixed that, it installed fine... only it doesn't work.. when I go to the jUser component all I see is this, on a blank white page..

this component is very important in the joomla world in my opinion. As it can allow users to register wif multiple fields demanded by the web admin. the legacy version didnt work at all for jom 1.5.x, even with legacy plugin enabled, not sure why, however, even the remake version for 1.5.x of the component had problem wif the submit button.
eventually i had to look into the code to fix that problem of submitting the registration form..
i know its a non-comm version, so i am not asking much..but really hope the author can fix that in their free time, relieving users like myself from hours of reading the code..thx!! ;)

We had installed another component which utilizes Phil Taylor's xajax adaptation on our new Joomla 1.5 development site. This plug in is apparently incompatible with JoomSuite. The answer given to us (response within 24 hours) was to disable the xajax plug in. Well, when we do that, the component that is mission critical to our website ceases to work.
We've used the JUser component before on our Joomla 1.0 site and loved it. If you are either using or considering use of components that employ this new xajax tool, then you will probably not want to bother with this component.
Too bad. I hope the developers consider making a change. When they do, we'll be the first in line.

Their site is unnecessarily confusing. Be very careful you download the correct version (Joomla 1.0 vs Joomla 1.5), as they will NOT refund your money if you download the wrong one.
Also, the joomla 1.5 version is a headache. After an hour of trying to figure out why it would not install, I find ANOTHER module needs to be installed first - just for licensing. Then the whole needed ion install was the deal breaker.

The tools are fine and useful as advertised, but is there really no way to provide the product without requiring the installation of ioncube and all it's potential complications? So much unnecessary time wasted.
Can only say good about this plugin. This should really be a core Joomla plugin. You simply need more info about your users than name and email.
Also integrates with JContent Subscription which was very important for me.
Support is great, company is reliable. Have been liaising with Joomlaequipment for ~6 month regarding other great products too.

I run a soccer club and wanted an application to allow me to gather additional information about my players to perform reporting on the different age groups, female/males. I also wanted a customized form for my new member to be able to fill which is inline with my club logo. JUSER did it all.
The best thing about it is the support. The guys helped me with every question and did so in a very happy manner.

I installed JUser and JContentSubscription and also FireBoard forum, so it was a tricky user/content situation but JUser and JCS handled it.
The reason I'm writing this review because I cannot ever remember getting such quick and helpful support.

ALMOST NEVER pay for extensions.. But this is one worth paying for.. Very professional and virtually fool-proof as far as ease of use.. Thanks guys.. I'm now forcing registration where before it wasn't worth it to only collect an email address. Now I'm in control of any info I want to collect.. sweet!
I installed the component without issue. I wanted a custom registration form on my homepage and Sergey helped within 24 hours. It does exactly what I wanted without a ton of extra stuff I didn't need. Well worth the price. Excellent component.
I don't write reviews much unless I am very happy about the product. In this case I needed a very quick fix to meet deadlines. Scanned through all options and ended up purchasing JUser. I am always reluctant about paying for something without installing in my environment and testing out first (there is a an online demo). I saw the note about time to purchase. They have a couple options for payment. I used Paypal, make sure you click go back to merchant at end of purchase, and I had the software within 15 minutes.
I have used some other very popular form management tools. One of the problems I have run into is with clients who want to add fields to, or change, user profile information. The form tool I had been using cannot be modified after you have built it (so they say). If you want to add something to the profile, say a date a new terms of service was accepted, "start your coding"! When I buy an extension, I do so not with the expectation of having to write a bunch of code to make their product work. So Juser was a lifesaver for my purposes. Simple to install (do read the instructions) and dynamic. If I want to add a new field to registration or the user profile, no prob. Also it is tied into newsletters, and can select multiple ways to display Terms Of Service. Can display items during registration that are not shown when editing profile later. It has some pretty fancy graphics for reporting as well as excel stats download on registration activity. Long list of features.

Now I'm not suggesting they will IM with everyone who has a question. Maybe I just got lucky, who knows. But I will say of all he vendors I have been in contact with, these guys were the most responsive and helpful.
But! It isn't all roses! I do see one thing that I miss. I cannot find a way to change the layout of the fields in the user registration / profile page (could just be me). You can change the order they are in, but they are all in a single column. From the posted date, I believe Juser has been available for a very short time. In speaking with them, improvements and added functionality are coming.

I've tried all the others and even used community builder just to add fields and get more information on registration! This made it quick and easy. A talented developer. My only complaint is that it took a couple days to actually get the component. Just a note at order time to say the download was not immediate would have been fine. Keep up the good work!
