RPX SignIn

- Requires a 3rd party commercial service to function.
This module uses Janrain (formerly RPX) and Janrain (formerly RPX) helps users sign-in to your website using an account they already have at:
* AOL
* Yahoo!
* MySpace
* Windows Live
* PayPal
* Hyves
* Verisign
* MyOpenID
* OpenID
* Flickr
* Blogger
* Livejournal
* Wordpress
* Netlog
So your users can bypass the extensive process of joining the site and can use their existing accounts into your site, and you can see username, email into your User manager through joomla admin.
Joomla admins will receive the email notifying user has sign-up using the RPX mod. So admin can track how many users used this mod on your site to register.
* Supports Community Builder (CB) and Jomsocial profiles, so now new user register via this mod will be added to your Community Builder (CB) and Jomsocial components as well.
* Imports user photo from the login provider site, if available, and adds as avatar to Community Builder (CB) or Jomsocial, if any of these two installed on your site.
NEW UPDATE INCLUDES :
* Asking for login email for the providers like Twitter, LinkedIn who does not return any email id
The current issue I face is the login overlay does not display properly on mobile devices. I spoke with Janrain regarding this issue and they informed me this is a known issue but they updated their software 5 months ago and the reason it does not work correctly with this extension is the author has not updated the software even after being informed it was needed.
We posted a request on the author's forum 3 weeks ago but had no reply despite bumping the request last week. The author has replied to others during the same time period. It seems this extension is no longer supported.
It is updated every time we found an update in joomla or janrain. And its updated right now as well as per current joomla and janrain updates.
You are directed to another site to get the API and the free version application that you have to create does not have the full features unless you pay some more from 10$ per month for Plus version to 1000$ + per year. Quite tricky, just not the right way to do it. No wonder the site doesn't seem right.
Please read all details before buying, its already written here and on our website too.
For those who do not wish to pay can use FREE service as well.
Editor's Note
Requires a 3rd party commercial service to function.
As for Twiiter, Linkedin, Google, OpenID, Yahoo, and AOL, it works fine without much hassle. I did get a token error message once, but it appears to be OK now. The other concern is that I feel they are using this module to track your site's traffic.
So in the end, I'm using it, but used another component for Facebook Login and added a module for OTHER logins separate.
Please check your Facebook Application settings. There should be some mistake that creates this problem.
It's not the problem of the module. Please correct the configs of your facebook application.
Facebook works fine with this mod. You can check it on the demo site http://joomla.thakkertech.com/
Support
I got problems with Twitter and linkeding sign in and they answered me in 5 minutes and modified module the same day.
This module and team are a completely reliable
Under $10 a real bargain for what it does.
- simple install through extension manager
- set up your janrain account
- Enter details into RPX module
- wait for new users.
Only thing I would like is the option to turn admin emails off every time someone registers.
Thumbs up, thank you
I cant believe it doesn't have more reviews
The demo is working perfectly fine, also we are providing FREE support. Please look at the support forum here http://www.thakkertech.com/support/4-joomla-extensions-bug-report.html
We do not see any thread for support opened by you nor any transactions of purchase from you. Please do not post false review before purchase/asking for support.
Without some sort of registration process, you don't have their contact details, and registration can be a long process that casual visitors are not interested in completing.
By offering visitors the ability to login using their existing Facebook / Google / Open ID / MySpace credentials, they connect to your site in a single click.
Needless to say, the mechanics behind this are complex. JanRain is a company that offers a single API to tie together all these disparate login systems.
What this brilliant module from Thakker does is allow you to set up a "unified" login for your Joomla site, using the (free) JanRain service.
It really is easy to do, taking a few seconds to install, and a minute or two to get a JanRain account and configure things.
Then a visitor can come to your site, and "login" even if they have not previously registered with a simple click.
If you do need support, I have found Thakker to be really excellent.
Highly recommended.
If you think $1.00 is to much for a module, then don't pick this one. To all others, if you think a dollar is a fair price I totally agree.
GOOD WORK
My respect to Thakker Technologies!!!
