The plugin is exactly what I need but it does not work under SEF (SefAdvance). As I debugged your script, it seems to be that the script finds the $task = 'register_save' but not the $option = 'com_user'.

Any ideas to fix the problem?

How about adding the ability to block registration unless the correct passphrase or code word is given on the registration page.

Kinda like the captcha only this allows the site to control who is able to sign up. The new user can still self register (without having to wait for the admin to create the account) as long as they input the correct code.

This plugin does exactly what it says it will. Installs quick, no hassle. I am running Joomla! version 1.5.6. Blocks those pesky fake .uk addresses that keep registering on my site :-)

When I found this plug in i was absolutely amazed. YES...YES this is something I was searching all the time. So what I did, yes, Installed on my test server. installation was as easy and straight as configuration. It does what is meant to be but my real disappointment is in the error message on the front end. for example if I don't want that hotmail addresses to be registered. It will stop all hotmail addresses and give a error message "SORRY WE DON'T ACCEPT HOTMAIL ADDRESS"(this is what i wrote at backend during configuration) but if someone write address which has already registered eg. me@mysite.com (not the hotmail one) the same error message will be appear, guess what! yes, "SORRY WE DON'T ACCEPT HOTMAIL ADDRESS" and this kinda funny which make user confuse at the front end. I believe if the author of this plugin can developed something useful like this plugin, he can also eradicate this small but important mistake which I am sure he is just mistakely overlooked.

This plugin has a good potential to be a "MUST HAVE PLUGIN" if the error messages can be set with condition.
