usefull and easy for use. Use together with SecureLive Analytics and you will have very wide security posibility.
Found this today, read about it, put it on my dev site, it worked. put it on my prod site it worked. Fewer bad guys now.

Well done.

I don't recommend that component because i had and my site was not completely protect it. Support its not good, i submit a question a few months and im still waiting for answer. I had to purchased another security component and waste my money.

The component can be good but if the administrators give better support will be better.

This is a must have component for me now on the Joomla sites I develop.
I was fed up fighting continual hacking attempts on client sites, this component may cost however it saves hours of work and gives peace of mind, well worth €99.
Tested on Joomla 1.0.15
Installation is no problem, install ioncube loader in ioncube folder in public_html or equiv(I did have ioncube in root however component couldn't see it there) install component(com_jfirewall), licence manager(com_blm) and mambot(plg_jfirewall), then upload your licence and remember to activate the mambot and it all works.
Don't test from your own IP or you'll find it works and your IP is blocked!
One suggestion for the developers, add a simple install help/readme file to component files to help those not so familiar with installing components and mambots/plugins, having said that the developers do offer a free installation service if you get stuck.

your a php guru. Support for this is non existent not to mention they have no clue how to speak in English. This makes it very bad to communicate as it seems they use some sort of translator to speak with you in english which for the most part makes no sense.

Having bought and paid for the 1.0 series of joomla we started having issues with db crashes, false reports where in the end we had to turn it off.

We sent multiple emails for support once problems started, nothing not even a simple confirmation of email reception.

Seeing this is the end result I would be very leary to suggest this to anyone for fears of coding issues and problems we have seen with this.

So, buy it if you desire, but be forewarned that this may not work to the expectations of your site. The 1.0 series is NOT php 5.x compatible and have no clue on the 1.5 series but, if it's anything like the 1.0 series, then all I can say is good luck.
I was hacked twice over a period of months. It took me forever to clean out all the crap the hackers left behind. The product was easy to install and so far has run well. So far it has blocked (and then blocked the IP address) of 7 different hacking attempts. One of the 7 was a friend of mine testing my security with a MYsql inject.

Product Review:

Turned out JFireWall by default have couple of clashes with other components; Myblog, JReview and more. I got blocked as admin on my own site with Myblog and JReview. Returns error all the time.

Support Review:

So after what happened above, supposedly here's when their support should come into play. Turned out messaging them back and forth only brings them back to my site and ALL they DID was enabling back the flawed JFirewall and leave me blocked on my OWN site and returns error message.

Wish I could say good things about this program but, after having paid for it and not working and no reply to 2 e-mails to the authors, I have to give this one a thumbs down.
I just can say one thing, these people are excellent. They dont let you alone if you a problem. The right partners to work with!

I just say tzhank you for your great software and excellent service.
Excellent extension - I cannot fault it.

Installation was a piece of cake (Joomla 1.5.2) - no troubles with ionCube or anything else for that matter.

jFirewall is like any sort of insurance: you don't really want to pay for it, but you're certainly gald you have when something goes wrong. In this case, you can see the hack attempts on your site and if you get any, which you will, then you'll be patting yourself on the back for buying this.

If you want to make sure your site is safe then buy this product. 'Nuff said, really.

The installation and other minor details are not important. The fact is that the contact with the authors is really easy, the answers are almost instant and this Joomla! extension is a superb piece of software. It may sound silly, but it does exactly what it is suposed to do: BLOCK ATTACKS!!!
All good except when I try to update the dBase it gives me

Apache/1.3.34 Server at update.bestforjoomla.com Port 80
XML error: syntax error at line 1

The guys are on the ball here and providing a service that others need to emulate. With no amount of problems with hosts they are a breeze of fresh air in sorting out the issue and give the impression they believe in not just in their product but the security of Joomla and it`s users.

I had a problem installing it but got a great support. It works fine and already did it's job fine: it protected my site many times already!

As far as I can find out there is no documentation. Some documentation would be nice.

I had some truble installing jFireWall on my host. Uncertain what the reason was, but I got great support from Alex and Sergey. Response time was extremely fast and they solved all problems in a vink. The application seems convincing, but since its value can only be evaluated at a much later time, I wanted to recommend this application on the basis of unparallelled service.
Way to go, guys! Regards, Michael
