Multiple CAPTCHA Engine is a system plugin to produce and verify captcha images.
With this new version, you will get 4 different captcha systems (libraries):
1. SecurImage PHP library (requires GD image Library),
2. ReCAPTCHA (requires an API key from recaptcha.net);
3. MathGuard, simple but effective.
4. VouchSafe, a New Spam prevention approach. (only compatible with Contact Enhanced and iRecommend)

I´ve been using this plugin in conjunction with Ajax Contact for several years now.
They work flawlessly, and the support from the developer is simply superb, very fast and proactive.
I would give more stars if it were possible!

This listing says the extension is compatible with Joomla 2.5, but if you go to the website, it is NOT compatible with 2.5 only up to 1.7.2. I tried with 2.5.2 version of joomla and it fails with code that is no longer supported.

This plugin does work with Joomla! 2.5, however it only works with selected extensions.

idk, first time i see this one, it's listed as commercial, with open source licence ? but after i come to their site, this one is free, test it and worked, thanks you
I highly recommend this extension together with their other product “Contact Enhanced Component”, it will transform the way you present to your customers a nice contact for with reCaptcha capabilities without any code modification.
Loaded this plugin and have tested the reCaptcha functionality only. INstallation was simple. You will need to fully understand the way plugins work with Joomla 1.5 in order to figure out how to use it though, as the documentation (both this plugin and Joomla itself) does not cover usage in your components at a detailed enough level.
The reCaptcha code works fine, but there is no support for multi-language and the support for handling the 'error=' parameter on the reCaptcha API which allows reCaptcha to show the user errors directly is not complete. I had to modify the plugin to get these parts to work.
