The difference between Easy Search Lite and Easy Search is that Easy Search enables to enlarge the search range by installing the plugin.
For example, if you install a plugin which searches the content from Virtuemart, Easy Search can display the direct link for the product detail page you usually have to go by clicking your mouse several times.
That means you do not have to tell your client how to navigate to the product page as well. All you have to tell your client is to search the product name in Easy Search and just click the link for the product detail page.
The homepage still does not have enough information about this component, but I hope you can figure out what this component can do by using Lite at first.
NOTICE 1: To use this component you have to install the following plugins:

NOTICE 2: Easy Search and the plugins probably do not work properly if your Joomla! website uses MySQL version 4 because Easy Search and the plugins are developed with MySQL version 5 and they use the sub query and the stored function.

I love this component and use it on every site I build. My clients love it too, makes finding things a breeze - esp with the new plugins. Support is fast & excellent too (I had downloaded the wrong version - doh!)
I must say that Hiro got a really great idea with this admin search component accompanied with plug-ins for like Virtuemart - as I tried out.
It is very easy for beginners or non-technical persons to get scared or confused about Joomla admin interface - I know this by experience in day to day handling with clients that have to operate Joomla - So this is a really good and smart tool to deploy - take the panic away and let the client go straight to what he want "edit articles" or "edit products" no fuss navigating.
The squeeze box (lightbox) editing mode is really the thing that makes it work out so well (do not forget you can adjust the size under the plug-in - so you do not get a client on a small screen to panic when he cannot close it again:) But with a method like this all and I mean all can do this - after edit just close and search again, make new edit and so on...
Respect for the clever idea and for Hiro's time, effort and sharing.
And thanks for the quick support reply/fix I got when a small issue arose.
I expect to be using this as from now on in all my installs of Joomla.
