Advanced Tools for 1.5 ComponentModuleExtension Specific Addon

Advanced Tools is a set of Tools for Joomla! 1.5 designed to make your life easier. It includes time savers like the Update Manager, that allows you to update your site easily, Library and Package Managers to handle installation of libraries and large multipart extensions. It also features the Advanced Tools "Advanced" Menu which can be edited by the included Table Editor. If you have migrated your site, the Table Editor also features editors for the Migration Backlinks table and the Migration Configuration table (for Migrator RC7 or greater migrated sites).

Please read the installation notes before installing as this extension writes to the /libraries/joomla/installer/adapters folder as well as the normal extension locations.

This is a very useful tool, i ran the update manager after upgrading it as suggested and it worked perfectly. No need for a degree in rocket science here. Cheers
This collection of tools is based on a good idea, unfortunately its confusing and the update manager link is not working. Dont waste your time with this ... better install the update manager component from the original website.
The other stuff as library manager and table is totally useless - you will see a list of links that do nothing.

The update manager in this set is the older version and should be upgraded with the later version that I released separately. The library manager is designed to be used with the libraries that I make use of, particularly for JAuthTools. The Table Editor is a proof of concept system to demonstrate how you can build a system based on params to handle a flexible amount of tasks. It also allows you to easily install table definitions as well. All three components (library, package and table editor) have their own installer adapter so the standard universal installer can be used to handle installing their packages instead of duplicating the interface.

If I had more time I would do an update to fix this but as it stands I don't make much money out of Joomla! (curious really, Moodle makes me around 60x the amount of money and I give this all for free!) but thanks anyway for the complaint :)

As an aside most of the stuff that is in this set of tools is in 1.6 anyway.

The number of silly problems people have doing maintenance updates of Joomla cause site maintainers to pull their hair out. I now have a full head of hair (and will for the foreseeable future).
This is exceptionally easy to install and after a double take on the way it creates a second administrative menu rather than just an item update to the component list menu was easy to use.
Documentation also needs a round-a-bout method to find as the listed support site is not up yet but Sam's personal site is more than adequate for figuring it out.
If you have a lot of derivative sites to support (such as a test sites and development sites) boy does this make things easy. I love you Sam!

Sam has hit on a real winner here. I'm now using this component as part of my standard build. Does exactly what it said it would do, and hasn't missed a hitch thus far.
Well done.

Just used this to upgrade a 1.5.4 site to 1.5.5 and it worked like a dream.

I haven't used any of its other capabilities yet, but this feature alone makes it a useful little addition to the toolbox.
