As a fairly new comer to Joomla I was surfing the JED and found this. Sounded good so I installed it. At first I couldn't find it, but a post to the developers had an answer back in an hour and the problem was solved- I was looking for it in the wrong place! Works a treat once I knew how to find and enable it.

This is a very good component for admins.

This component works great to let me know when I need to save or apply before my session runs out.

Suggestions:
- Front-End Capabilities
- Reminder sound/popup/notification

Thanks for this wonderfully built app.

I have tested this session timer and works great in the backend. It tells you with a neat battery meter how much time left before expiry. Best of all if you forget watching the time meter, a windows popup warning you about saving your work before expiry. Good job.

Suggestion: I would like to see the possibility of having a frontend solution as well, especially when you have a community that input data into profiles, sometimes there are not aware that the session is timed. Having a session timer with a customisable warning message could prevent data loss.

There is solution, but this extension requires club subscription: http://style13.com/session-meter-frontend

It is great, I can see how many minutes left to end sessions. It will get you out of the trouble if you forget to save article after session ends.

It remembers you 1 minute to save your work. Great!

I love this tool. How many times did I get redirected to log in again and all work got lost... Now I get warned 1 minutes before the session expires and I have no loss!
Thank you so much! My customers love it also ;)

Download, install, publish adminstrator module to position status and it works like a charme. No more articles lost trying to save while session has timed out. Thanks! (PS in view to earlier reviews you can now choose for minutes countdown i.o. percentages)

I don't know how many times I have lost track of time and lost my work when typing etc.

This fixed that problem...Great work!

Thanks for this excellent little tool. It helps a lot. Would be even nicer if it would appear automatically in the status bar. But other than that - perfect.

Very simple, but effective module. Works ideally for me.. i edited it slightly so that the 'battery' meter is just a rectangle meter. My only crit is that it shows a percentage and not number of mins left logged in, which in my opinion is more useful.. i might edit when i have time and send the author the code.
But overall a fantastic and simple extension.
