Advanced Administrator Menu replaces the standard Joomla Admin Menu in order to give you these new features.
Up to date for Joomla 1.5.11.
My superlong component menu was driving me insane, this component has saved me from the insane asylum :)
Easy to install (Joomla 1.5.17) with no errors :)
Easy to use, easy to follow, although instead of 'tags' maybe call it 'Menus' and you might want to add after install some text to say 'publish the module in Admin modules and turn off the Joomla standard Admin menu module'
I tried a variety of other tools as well as shortcuts but this is so much better as I can control the grouping of all my components - thanks guys keep up the good work.

In general this is a good idea. I would like to point out though that it seems to be updated for each version of Joomla... Would you please update it to Joomla 1.5.15 in order to work with my installation?
Best regards,

Does what it says on the tin. Good work.
This is a fantastic module and I was able to make it do exactly what I wanted with a little bit of hacking.
I still can't figure out why the disabled menu categories show up when the menu is deactivated (i.e. when editing a content item) has anyone else been able to solve this?
It would be nice to see the ability to change the names of menu items in future itterations (I had to manually edit the components database table) as well as parameters to turn off items/other menus from appearing (I manually disabled the content menu - since I am using K2 - and the joomla help in the help menu so as not to confuse my users)

Really great extension, exact what i search, but i encounter some problems: some components does not show up in the admin configuration: weblinks and contacts
Really useful for getting rid of a long list of extensions that disappear off the screen.
You unpublish the standard Joomla admin module and publish the Advanced Administrator Menu in its place. Set up some tags which you assign to your components. That's basically all you need to do to be up and running.
The website has install doc and answers most questions, like what to do if you accidentally unpublish both admin modules...and end up with no admin tabs. Yes, I did that :-)
So, I recommend this. A great component that works really well!

I run several huge sites, and I have been looking for a tool like this advanced administrator menu, for sooo long time now ;-)
It is easily installed, and make the normally frustrating dropdown menu obsolete…
Thanks.. I just love this extension, it should be a core component....

Easy install. Works perfectly.
I've had it installed for a while now and it just makes life simple.
It's great for when you have an Extension that then also has other related extensions. You can then create a Menu that has all of them grouped together.
If you have many components this is what you need.

Now finally I can view the items in the menu section no matter what system I'm using, moving from a 30" screen to a laptop was a pain since our list of extensions has always been hard to get to. Thanks for a great add-on. Kepp up the good work.
