Banner Slider Module

A simple way to slide banners in Joomla v1.5 with fade-in/scroll effect. It supports both Image and Custom Code field, so we can slide images with other advertisement html codes (like Google adsense)

This sort of works for IE8. It depends on how the module is laid out. Some of mine work and others I had to turn off. I'm not an expert so I can't tell you why some work and some don't but i suggest moving on unless this gets updated soon.

I just tried this extension, and like it.

It works well in IE 8 for me. Previous note indicate it doesn't.

THis is so far the simplest and fastest banner module i have tried.
Easy to configure and efective when it appears on the web site

I'd love to give this a 5 star review but unfortunately it doesn't work in IE8. It's a simple and easy to use module but the rotating banners don't even show up in IE8. Everything is fine in Firefox, Safari and IE7. Also, there doesn't seem to be anyway to get in contact with the developer. There is no documentation or forum and when I tried emailing the developer I got a "Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently" message.
A simple but effective module. Good job. I have a couple of questions, but can't find how to contact the developer. If the support is there, this could be an Excellent!

PROS:
Easy to configure.

Excellent module for rotating through images. I use the banner id parameter to cycle through image compositions I designed with photoshop.

Advertisements, Announcements, article highlights, whatever . . . . it's perfect.

My clients love it too for their own efforts too.

I TRIED WHAT SEEMED LIKE 2-DOZEN IMAGE ROTATORS, FALSELY CLAIMING TO DO JUST WHAT BANNER_SLIDER DOES DO. SO THANKS!

CONS:
Needs an intuitive configuration parameter for linking banners to their respective url links.
In less than 90 seconds this extension was properly working on my site, doing exactly what it intends to do! Great job!

Great Work! Had bene trying to get the banner module to work properly for ages, downloaded Banner Slider to use with TradeDoubler code, and after a bit of messing around got it to work; for muppets like me, remember to use the N° Id's in the Joomla Banner Component to define which banners to show in the Banner Slider...

Great module! Very easy to install and adjust. This is the only free sliding banner module that I have found, that does exactly what it states, without any problem. One of the best modules for Joomla in my opinion. Thank you very much!

This is very nice. Only suggestion would be for the component to encode ampersands in URLs properly: & becomes '&a.mp;' (I added the period.) Right now the resulting code is invalid if the banner is linked to story in Joomla.

But this is VERY nice, VERY light. Good work!

I like software that is easy to install, intuitive to configure and that works reliably.

This no fuss component does all of that.

Great module Guys, i have to say thanks, easy to install, easy module setup, no bugs and just what i was looking for, very useful.
congrats.
The only thing that prevents me from rating this module as 'Excellent' is the inability to control the order in which the banners appear, no matter how we set up the banners or the module parameters. Still searching for a solution for this issue.

The 'fade' effect is just what we were looking for and eliminates the need for using Flash, which is what we were doing and I am the only one here who knows Flash. Once the issue I've listed above is resolved, I'll be able to (finally) turn the banner management over to our 'non-technical' content managers.

So, this module is really, really close, but no cigar just yet.
Thank you so much! This is a really nice mod, made my site dynamics change and more attractive = more advertisers...! Love the how easy it is to add or remove banners and clients.
Well done.
I must say that I went through a bunch of different Ad management modules/components before I came across this one...this one just worked just the way I wanted it to.

I was looking for a way to cycle through the active Ads automatically on the page...and this just worked perfectly.

2 thumbs up!
Installed and functioned perfectly (once I entered the banners, clients and categories ID's - which is clearly marked).

I had tried other banner rotators, but this is the only one I found that actually does randomize the banners properly - a major plus.

Thanks for this great module!
After trying out several of the other non-commercial banner management extensions here which turned out to be buggy, Banner Slider is a gem.

It's simple, flexible, does what it's supposed to do and yet offers quite a bit of power.

More importantly. It works without debugging!

Easy to use, installs fast, works without a hitch. I can't believe how easy it was.
