I have a rented Webshop from Alltron. What won't connect with Joomla at all. So earlier I was just providing a Search-Box on my page. Then I've seen Bram's Tool and taught tat it may can doo the job. (Search in my rented shop and provide the results in the Joomla-Page) Unfortunately my shop creates a ugly datafeed without headers. So the component wasn't able to work with the feed at all.
Just a small E-Mail to Bram and he developed a custom parser and a Custom search-Module for my website and installed it. It had its price. But the result is outstanding and the support-reaction realy fast.
So before you delete this Component because it isn't working take contact to Bram he can handle it.

Indeed a fine component to handle datafeeds and create you're little shop. You can pick one of the many networks supported but there are some issues im not to happy with. For instance, why every index.html file (14x) is filled with a bunch of links going to his website. The support is available but as fas as communication goes, he's definitely on some sort of different level. His way of explaining things aren't always that easy to understand. He does make a lot of mistakes with writing. What is a bit disturbing, is his way of getting financial compensation for his work. 2 years ago or so he charged almost 100 euro so you could read the documentation. When that failed he dropped that so everybody could read it. He had a dutch forum, then an english forum. Now those are obsolete and he has a new free forum again and introduced a pro subscription (Hidden forum area). That will cost you again 50 euro, and in return you get some samples to extend your shop functionality and a gratefull programmer. Well, its not worth it. Ive seen many programmers who put countless hours in their work and they did it with joy because they love to do what they do. However, Bram is i think a bit frustrated for the little $$ he gets back in return. Let me continue, the style used for this component is a disaster and ugly and many of the classes are not into the stylesheet and simply missing. The average user who sets up a site will never win any price with the design. To my opinion he should have worked with someone who would take care of the design. The component also misses a lot of some basic functionality in how to deal with crappy datafeeds. I could still recommend it, but i hope it gets better and cleaned up a bit.

I needed a solution for a non standard xml feed so having searched JED I decided to contact Bram to ask if he could help me. Wihtout delay and for a very very reasonable small charge he provided much more than I could have hoped for. I would definitely recommend this developer to anyone that needs help with custom xml feeds!

I have been using this extension for the last 6 months and now have 12 product feeds on 4 different topic websites.

I am not that technical but found the set up easy enough by following the hlp notes on www.affiliatefeeds.nl/ and the component, menu and module settings from the example feed which can be added on installing and deleted later.

The only problems that I've had is when I upgraded sh404 and a couple of small issues when adding product feeds into my articles, this was sorted out quickly with the developers help.

I highly recommend this extension and one well worth putting the time into understanding as it has many configurations and uses and has made a good impact on my websites.

A lot of good effort has gone into developing this component, however it is not ready. The author makes good effort in English but his use of it is still confusing (he writes "two" as "to" sometimes for instance), the component's language is half English half Dutch, etc.
Also the database is not well organized, I could not find how to delete the 1,000 or so sample items that come with the installation, and quite a few other small issues.

The developer has great understanding of data feeds, however the user can find oneself in a pickle.

For all developers out there, make a Great free component, develop a reputation and you will get more paid work than you will want. Do not try to make money off free components, or get links etc. A good component will make people come look for you. A so-so one will make people avoid you.

I have been using this extension for a while now and it's really usefull. If you try to understand php a bit you'll be able to customize it perfectly to your needs. Even the standard layout will fit most people. It's easy to use and maintain. Remember extensions are there to help you, not to make everything into an automation process. If you want your site to gain some, you'll have to put in some effort yourself. Your effort and this extension can make your site profitable. Try it and get just as excited as me or even more. You'll see it's more and more fun using it's abilities. @Bram. Great job! You'll help a lot of people with this extension.

An unique component for affiliate datafeed and price comparison for joomla .. Hope to see it's further development in future .

I'll start with the only negative - most of the support site is in Dutch.
This is not to say that you can not get support in english. The site has an ever increasing english section and google translate gets you through the rest. On top of that the support from Bram matches and exceeds that of most paid extensions.
It takes a little while to get you head around setting up the feeds within the menu but once you have customisation is pretty easy. We download feeds into a database, customise and categorise them ourselves and then upload them and this component handles it without any problems.

Iv finally got it installed after a few weeks, and a half a dozen install attempts. Although everything is in dutch since the component wont install the english files, this is alright though as I can navigate it without english. The components datafeeds that are supplyed work great, myn on the other hand wont work atal. Im using commision junction for my xml, and csv files. So far Iv goton to the point where my datafeed wont read with a magipie error, and states that it cant parse it. Any help would be great, I registered on there website but everything is in dutch there to...

I wanted to write a thanks to the developer and some help to others - so here goes:

After thinking to myself that I will need to put my php/xml hat on and create an application that delivered multiple xml feeds from affiliate networks, I am pleased to say that I stumbled across this plugin.

It took a while to understand what it was actually supposed to do on the front end and I actually uninstalled it as I didn't quite get it at first - my impatience and misunderstanding.

However, due to being persistent - I reinstalled and persevered with it.

I cannot say how excellent this product is, once you get a handle on it, you'll understand the incredible power of how to display multiple XMLfeeds or CSV files derived from affiliate data feeds into your website.

The documentation on the dev website is brief and gives you some help but I really do recommend using this - it's quite clearly a very powerful product available for Joomla for affiliate marketing.

I edited a few core php docs to get the data displaying how I wanted it and the routes to the various files are:

Components>com_datafeeds>views>items>tmpl>(whatever_file_you_want_to_edit)

You have to make sure that you take time to understand and experiment with the relationship between the Data Menu Module and the Data Menu Link in the main Joomla menu - you have to give the Module a menu id for it to work successfully.

All in all, this is an excellent piece of work, there could be more language support but in reality, if you are prepared to spend some time with the core language files and a little bit of source code editing to match your requirements, you really can get this streamlined to deliver great results and in a fraction of the time it would take you to do this from scratch.

Have been looking for quite a while for this. A lot of money wasted on software that doesn't do the trick. This component does ! And the man behind it is very helpfull and very good in pointing out what to do. I can only say, good job and keep improving. But never seen such a nice and good component for the affiliate market.

I needed this component to show an xml feed that wasn't standard in the component. I contacted the developer and he created a custom component suitable for my needs.... within two days!

The developer responds to questions very quickly and is always there for a helping hand.

I recommend this component for its functionality and the excellent developer support.

The only thing I would like to see is an extended documentation section, but even without it's still 5 stars to me.

This is a very good component! easy to install and update. There are many functions and possibility and has good online support.

The developer has made a perfect component in use for my travel websites and affiliate feeds just what i was looking for.

The developer is also able to give perfect support and create script for special demands !

Thanks this useful tool.!!! Maybe later coming CB integration(user + merchant)? I just need some features to define users. I mean simple users can make "favorite products, price alerts, etc" and "Merchant" can upload their feeds and have the same functions like "simple" users for B2B model..

Anyway i am so happy that affiliate feeds coming to joomla's space:)
