Switch Editors is a simple add-on that allows you to quickly and conveniently disable the WYSIWYG editor in the Joomla administrative backend or to switch between the available editors as required.
For example, when you need to edit a module or article that contains code normally stripped out by most WYSIWYG editors, Editor Switcher allows you to avoid the rather tedious task of switching the editor in Joomla’s global configuration area (both before AND after editing the content) and thus saves time and frustration.
Upon installation, a lightweight drop-down menu with the available editor options is displayed at the top-right of the administration area so that you never have to navigate away from your content to make changes with the appropriate editor (or no editor at all).
Switch Editors has been written from the ground-up as a native extension for Joomla 2.5 and subsequent versions.

I used to drive me mad when I opened an article or module, and forgot that I needed to turn the code editor off.This saves time, and more importantly saves the frustration off keep needing to go into global config to turn it off and on. Should be a standard feature of Joomla.
I have installed the component twice on my J 2.5.4 and the installation manager twice reported "success". But after loggin out and in, clearing all caches (joomla and my browser) nothing has changed in the backend.
Too bad as I was really looking forward to this extension...

Sorry it did not work for you. You could check if the module was published properly. It's possible there is an error on your site preventing the auto-publishing that normally occurs upon install.
This has got to be the first time I've ever downloaded and installed something from the extensions site that...
1. Works as per claims.
2. Is immediately useful.
3. I'll probably never want to part with.

Fantastic Little Plugin, this should be part of the core process of add-ons for any Jooomla site.

good job guy saving me 10 clicks ofr each time i needed to disable the editor... after a year maybe you guys saved me a day of my life! NICE JOB ... simple and great...

What a huge timesaver! I've often been in an article and needed a different editor. This saves several steps!
