Trackback for articles

Please note:
Trackback for articles is not a comment system, it only handles trackbacks and pingbacks, so no need to leave test comments on my homepage! If you don't know what trackbacks and pingbacks are, have a look at wikipedia before using the component.
Prerequisites:
Joomla 1.5.x
for trackback autodiscovery: PHP with cURL support
for pingbacks: enabled webservice (in the Joomla configuration) and PHP with cURL support.
for akismet/botscout support: respective API keys and PHP with cURL support
Installation:
install the component (two plugins and a module will be installed automatically). Tweak all the parameters (component, plugins and module) to your needs.
Usage:
When accessing an article (in frontend), a trackback URL is displayed and the header information for pingback is added. If possible (i.e. if logged in), it is possible to send a trackback to a remote site. When adding a new article, the text is scanned for external links and pingbacks are sent to the respective sites.
First, from a security standpoint I'd rather not have a plugin announce itself and the fact that the site is using Joomla.
Second, the trackback URLs are not w3c compliant. The ampersands in the URLs need to be escaped.
Other than those two issues, it looks like a nice plugin.
Thanks for the report, but: there is a support forum to report issues like that. BTW, the component does support the Joomla SEF URLs, so no ampersands and no hint you are using Joomla.
Unfortunately I run into some trouble at first to make it work, but thanks to agile and kind support from its creator, my site was sending and receiving trackbacks in no time.
This is a must-have if you are missing trackback functionality in your Joomla site. Thank you so much for developing this extension.
finally, someone wrote a great simple extension for trackbacks in Joomla - this should become part of the core!
Best regards,
Ricardo Cristof
There is just one question:
How do I change the language in Chinese?@@
Plz~ help me!
Thanks! To translate to a different language, copy the files /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_trackback.ini and en-GB.plg_content_trackback.ini to your language folder xx-XX, rename them to xx-XX.... and - of course - translate the content (only the part after the "=").
