DYNotificationManager Plugin

DYNotificationManager is a Plugin that will allow you to setup different email addresses for different tasks.

So you can send emails to one person when an article is created but to a different person when it is edited, it also allows for deleted articles and for all weblink tasks.

It is based on the version here http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3504/Itemid,35/, i then added exta tasks, weblinks and some extra options as below:

I have called it a manager as when i have more time i may look to add all tasks, so it can notify on publish/unpublish, archive/unarchive, move to trash, permantly delete, frontpage, move section/category, e.t.c.

Any help fixing/improving on the things below is always welcome, just use the contacts us link on my website.

Version: 1.0.7 - 29/03/2008
The ability to choose if the normal emails sent to superadministrators are sent aswell.
The ability to choose if the plugin sends notifications for anything created/edited/deleted in the backend aswell as the frontend.
The ability to choose if the domain link in the emails is the main domain only or the domain plus any directories.
The ability to choose if the plugin works on articles only, weblinks only or both.
The ability to enter one lot of email addresses and have all tasks use them.
The ability to enable/disable notification on a per user/per task basis, so only articles created by an author are notified on.
The ability to add some text to the beginning of the subject line on a per user/per task basis to help with email rules.
Added Language support (Only created an English file).
Currently the link to the article in the email is incorrect when both SEF is turned on and the section/category is Uncategorized (Fix to come later).

I love the idea of this extension, and, if i wasnt getting errors, i would rate it as excellent.

It was working fine, but now when i submit an article from the front end i get this error

Fatal error: Call to a member function getError() on a non-object in /home/XXXX/public_html/cms/plugins/system/dynotificationmanager.php on line 555

I went to the site and submitted a contact form but have not heard back yet

thanx muchly

This one is quite better than NotifyAdmin I used before. It has various possibilities to get a notification E-Mail. Especially for Sites where many users act as authors, etc. it is necessary to track all changes regarding articles.

I'm looking forward to see this plugin growing!

I can't wait to see this product fully functional! I've been dying to get a product like this forever (I'm surprised the entire community isn't begging and pleading for this sort of content management). Unfortunately, I could install it, but I could not publish it. I tried it on both RC3 and 1.5.2.

I e-mailed the author via the contact form on his website, but never heard back.

I'd love to see this product expanded to put content publishes/edits/deletes on hold until the designated group approves it. This takes us a long way toward the workflow a lot of us are looking for.

PLEASE continue work on this! I really need it!
Owner's reply

Hi, sorry i never received the email (Just testing the contact form at the moment as i had one earlier today from someone else offering translation and that got to me ok??).

I just checked i had tested it on 1.5.2 and i had (Designed on 1.5.0/1.5.1), i have it installed and published and it is sending email as it should.

Can you please email me directly and advise on any errors or line numbers it gives so i can look deeper.

I agree on the workflow, seems strange that an author can create an article and it must be approved (I Agree), but if the author then makes changes it is still live not requiring approval again (Not good with an upset employee!!!).
