Mehdi's Phpbb THREE bridge Component

This is a bridge between Phpbb3 and Joomla 1.5.
The bridge allow to enable separately visual integration and user integration. Require PHP 5. ||

The bridge is replacement of my older bridge for Phpbb2. Similar logic, but slightly different instructions.

latest fix: unexpected error "script is called from a wrong place", that some people get ... (bug that affects windows install)

Perfect visual & user integration , great job. Thank you very much.
Thank you a lot for this cool integration! I had faced only one problem i can't use in JComment avatars from PHPbb3.

I spent some time configuring the extension, but worth the effort.
I like it very much!

There is some manual work involved and, due to mostly my inexperience, I felt like I was performing surgery. However, the directions were perfectly fine and when I was done, the bridge did exactly what I needed it to do. I tried a couple of other bridges for phpBB3, but for one reason or another, I just couldn't get it tweaked enough to work flawlessly. Maybe if I tried again with the knowledge gained through this bridge, the experience would be better, but this works great, so I'm sticking with it. Thanks!!!

This was a godsend of a component. With PHPBB being the hottest board out there, it was so nice to see a Joomla bridge. Easy to install and yes there is so hacking but not difficult to do. Now if we upgrade the BB I don't think this hack with effect it. Again, I'm so excited. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

It works perfect. If we want to upgrade from Phpbb3.05 in Phpbb3.06 what we do;

it's good, but too much changes to the phpbb3 code/files! It's ver hard to patch/upgrade the forum after installing this bridge...

I've been looking for this identical bridge. It's everything I've been searching for, easy of installation A+.

I attemtped a template change, going thru the CSS convertor with the website to no avail. Maybe I missed something or maybe it was the template I was using.

The step by step instructions were easy to follow. Installed easily and no issues once installed, again the instructions made all the difference which were easy to follow... idiot proof! no problems at all. Now please add more templates!

This works really well !
The instructions are easy to follow and the whole thing works seamlessly switching back to joomla for logging in & registering etc.

After using RokBridge and becoming disappointed by it's lack of visual integration, this was a God-send! Yes, you need to get your hands dirty, but it makes it that much more fun.

Unfortunately, it all worked out useless in the end as I needed to transfer over the names and I didn't realise phpbb doesn't have name support, so I'll have to just use Kuena, but this is still a great bridge and anyone with Joomla and phpbb3 should use it.

It's a great bridge!
The support from the Author is also great!
Thx!

follow the instruction install without any problem, more importantly is the great support from the owner.

thanks
Wow.... If only everything worked that well.

I appreciate you taking your time to develop and update this bridge, and will be donating soon.

I have worked with other bridges in the past and some have had some silly problems / issues, but not with this one. This one was very simple to execute by simply following the instructions.

I will be checking out the 'hacks' to get another template installed, but the Bridge part worked just as it should.

The only suggestion (not really a complaint...) would be to try and add another theme to the install package that is a dark theme so both dark/light joomla installs can have a style that works right out of the box.

Its an excellent extension since it enables one to tap into the Robust phpbb under single signon. Its really been useful.

keep up the good work.

Thank you for this bridge... This bridge hack is the best ever.

Absolutely the best bridge I've seen. I've tried a few others (i.e. RokBridge), but this is the best. This is the only bridge I've seen in which the visual integration actually works as it is supposed to work. The setup requires a bit of work, but the instructions are clearly outlined on the website.

Great work!
