Every online business needs a newsletter to maintain communication with its customers. This integration finally gives you access to one of the best open source newsletter applications available -- and if you have Fantastico on your server, you can install PhpList with ONE CLICK!
We have a module and a front-end view that enables users--whether they are logged-in or not--to register for all of your PhpList newsletters. They never need to leave your site, whether to subscribe or unsubscribe.
We have been in touch with Michael, the lead developer of PhpList, and have decided to offer him a portion of all proceeds generated by support subscriptions for this component -- he's doing a great job with limited funding; let's see what he can do with a little more!
We currently are using this integration on Dioscouri.com, so stop by to check it out. Thanks!

i bought this extension because it seemed to be the best of the available bridges between phplist and joomla.
however after a big time i realised it is not possible to integrate the attributes (extra fields). in my case i installed a birthday plugin into the phplist and there is no way to make a link with the joomla site unless i hard code it. unfortunatly i am not good at php.
more important is the problem i am having now: everytime i write a message and add link and images into it, the quote signs are changed into " . because of this problem images are not shown in the emails.
when sending mails without the integration, this problem doesn't occur.
i am not able to log a ticket for this problem and the support forum doesn't have a category for this software :(

Thanks for the review!
@Phplist Attributes: Jen has already completed development of this feature and it is part of the next upgrade.
@forum: there is no free version of our Phplist Integration, and since the forum is only for community-provided support for the free version.........
@support tickets: Why weren't you able to submit a support ticket?
@quotes: this sounds like an issue with the WYSIWYG editor you're using to edit the messages. I'd say you should submit a support ticket, but you've established there is something preventing you from doing that, so I'd say the next step is to email us with the subject LOGIN ERRORS.
Thanks!

So I finally got around to using phplist for my newsletters and figured I was just going to have to keep it separate from my joomla site but I got to thinking that a module to integrate the 2 would be really great. I compared all the other bridges out there and came to the conclusion based on price and availability of info that I was going to go with Dioscouri. I am very glad that I have.
The backup assistance is great when you need it. I had a few questions when I signed up and got the answers immediately. Now about a month on, I was trying to do a little cosmetology lift to the site combined with the phplist integration module and there he was again (sorry I dont know your name!) but helped me even when it really had nothing to do with his core functions.
It is missing a few things like newsletter template integration but Im told that is in work, so I dont mind waiting a little longer for this to component to become perfected.
Thank you very much for the component and your help,
Demitra

At a first glance the component looks fine, but there are some vital missing features, like the "receive html" option when a user subscribes. This missing feature makes the signup module unusable for me.

Thanks for the Feature Request! We'll work on this for the next upgrade.

I am always a little hesitant when it comes to purchasing Joomla mods & coms. I have been burned countless times in the past by companies not supporting their product once they have their money. When I stumbled upon the PHPList Joomla bridge I was again hesitant to drop the money on something thinking "if I had a problem would support be non-existent"? I decided to give this one more try....after purchasing this com I ran into an immediate problem (which we found out after was my own fault ooopppps). I posted a support ticket and wasn't going to hold my breath. Within minutes, the support team was trouble shooting my problem. They even went into my cpanel and db AND FIXED IT for...FREE. That my friends is amazing support! It was a silly little setting that was my fault for overlooking. I can't sing enough praises for this company and component. The component is worth triple if you are going to stand behind it like you have. Bravo!
