The module contains language support. Currently English, French, Dutch, Danish, Italien, Spanish, Polish, Interlingua and Swedish are included.
Parameters:
- year, month, day, hour, minute and second of the event
- offset of the server (handy if your server is in a different time zone)
- 5 different formats to show the countdown
- Option to add a leading zero to the seconds, minutes and hours
- leading and tailing text
- Switch on or off the feature to count up if the event is in the past
- Moduleclass suffix

Agreed - This is a great little module that, while small in nature - just adds SO MUCH to the site. It's little enhancements like this one that helps make a site a unique and good one.
Setting up and configuring was easier than easy and without any bugs.
If there was ONE thing i would 'prefer' this module had, was a little more backend style configurations.
At present, it will only allow the stats to be displayed in a horizontal manner. While i can still make this work within my site (and quite nicely), it would be even better to be able to style this a little differently (maybe be able to change display properties ?)
Thanks for this - Great Work!

Good extension, very simple to install and to use, I liked it over all those I've tried. Maybe you could add a text field where you can specify what the module should display after the countdown has expired? And also you could let the user choice if he wants a line break before the days and after the seconds remaining.

Easy to set up and use. You can have a counter up in minutes. Also does a count up as well as a countdown. Would it be possible to add a display option that shows years as well as days?

This was just what I was looking for. Very easy installation and implemantation :-)
Have however a single question: Is it not possible to NOT write anything in "Tailing text" ? When I try to empty it, it always default to the standard text.

Yes you're right, there seems to be a problem when you leave the tailing text empty. I'll make a bugfix later today.

I like the simplicity and its the only one that is able to count up instead of counting down I believe! I searched for a counter that counts up because I wanted to show how old my son is. He was born a couple of days ago ;)

I have to say this is one of the better simple and straight forward count down extension I've seen and used. It's actually a great marketing platform because it creates curiosity for site visitors to return. It's well done and never had a problem since using it for the last couple of months.

Perfect extension! Does exactly what they say that it does! It's very handy that I can set the time difference from the server. I can recommend this to everybody!

It's a simple mod, but I like the way they built the params into the module interface. Installed without a burp, configured it in about 2 minutes and it seems to be doing exactly what I wanted. Could not ask for anything more. (I'm using this in countup mode and it's perfecto)

It works till 31st December 2008, but not anymore. I've tried also the newest version released in February 2009. and reslut is the same -> 0 days 0 minutes 0 seconds till event. Event I want to put was 2nd February 2009 at 20 o'clock (also tried with 02 and 2 as input in month and day)and nothing works.
Owner's reply
It seems you don't fully understand how the module works. 2nd february 2009 is in the past, so it's quit normal the counter is on 0. You can count up from an event in the past, but then you have to set the appropriate parameter in the back-end. Could you contact me through our site (forum or contact page), so I can see what should be done to make it work on your site?

Ulti-counter integrates seamlessly with Joomla 1.5. By itself, this is enough to make a body shout! But what's more, it works with no effort right out of the box. If you need a script to help you count down to an event like a birthday of New Year's Day this is it!! No, you won't have bells sounding and whistles blowing, but we all need to be a bit more sensitive to our visitor's needs for fast-loading sites. For a solidly performing mod, ulti-counter is the proverbial "it."

If you need a simple count down to an event, this is all you need. There are inputs for pre and post count text. It would be nice to have font size and color selections, but as other reviews have stated, you can make the changes yourself if you know CSS and PHP.
Sample text: Only 38 days until the baby arrives!

I really like this extension for what you get from it, but it is not perfect. Meaning I believe their should be an area for adjusting the text as in left, center, or right; as well as add bold to leading, counter, or trailing text; and the ability to change colors to the text to make it more noticeable. Right now I see having the counter to be noticed is a small problem.
Besides that very well done.

It works fine!
Edit ulticounter.js if you want to use it with your language.
Edit default.php if you want to use your own css.
Thank you very much!

It's not anything fancy but it gets the job done. No issues with it installing or anything. Configuration is all done from the Module properties.
Nice Job!!

Installation and configuration as easy as can be. Simple presentation but that's all I need it for. Thanks!!
