Is there any intend to make this pretty component compatible with J1.6

OR Is there any solution (even complex)to make it compatible?

I love it any way!

Thanks for developing it
Owner's reply

Thanks for your flattery!
I am working on a completely new version of amoCourse specially made for using on Joomla! 1.6 (and following versions) with many new features and more flexibility (e.g. implementing the cool ACL of J16).

The development process will take some months until the first version can be published because I'm developing it in my spare time. Thanks for your patience...

Great component, easy to install and configure and modify, direct access to the developer on his website and fast replies. Frequent updates to the app and the developer responds fast with suggestions and additions requested.

Highly recommended!!

I really love this extension - it's easy to configure and customize. I like the use of the Joomla categories/sections to organize the course listings and the support is 2nd to none. Renzo was attentive, prompt and went the extra yard to help me (and guide me w/ customizing) my course listing. The forum support they offer is good too for additional tips. In summary: great extension, great support.

G'Day Mates
This is the first time in 3 years that I have submitted a comment for any extension. This Amocourse events registration extension has performed greatly for what I required it to accomplish. It has saved me money and I absolutely Love It!
I had no problems with it working with IE although I did have to tweak it a bit.
With just a little bit more work this extension should be commercial!
I have performed some slight modifications to get it to function the way I needed it work. Other than that I could not be more happy.
Cheers Mate for a great extension!

This works beautifully until viewed in Internet explorer(8), then it is totally useless. Multiple support requests on the support forum went completely ignored. I suggest you view in IE before wasting too much time and effort. I will try something else. Disappointing.
Owner's reply

It's not right...
amoCourse is working well in Internet Explorer because of amoCourse don't use any special css or html tags. If your website don't works fine in IE8, try to use another template or correct the template manually. Then i'm sure amoCourse is working well!!!

Sorry, of no answer for your support requests... I am a one man show and I was in holidays for a few weeks.

Maybe you will try again? Then I will help you asap!

Regards
Renzo (amoTools)

Have tried many similar course registration systems including some commercial paid ones but eventually given up on them. Compared to most of the course registration systems out there for joomla, amoCourse is the most easiest to implement and configure. Now I'm a happy amoCourse user. :)

This is not easy to use. I tried for 2 hours but failed to see the registration form at frontend.

Why use the Joomla content section and category? Why not has built-in sections and categories management of this component itself? I think this is a bad design.

And the frontend layout is a little ugly.

Wish the author will improve it further.

Thanks.

I tried a lot a joomla extension to make a site where users can browser the course and sign up on required ones. I found most of the extensions for course management does not have a proper approach when it comes to a course registration website.

Even tough amoCourse is still in beta stage, I found it very much advanced and i am sure it will have a lots more interesting features in future release.

It would be nice if you can add an option to take payment before registering for the course and also ability to integrate the registered dates to a calendar component and showing the available seats... just some ideas for future release.

I found support by Renzo Meister as first class!

Thank you very much for such a beautiful contribution and wish you all the best!

Thank you for your input! I will try to implement your wishes in one of the next releases! If you have more good ideas please let me know it! I'm happy for every new challenge!

Easy to install & use, this component does exactly what it's supposed to do.

The confirmation emails weren't initially sent out as HTML mails, but by adding a simple line of code this was solved easily. (thank you to the developer for the quick support!)
Owner's reply

Thanks for your compliment. The newest Version (Beta 1.3) now includes a switch to activate HTML-Mails. That's only one small new feature of many. Maybee you want to try it...

I was looking for a course registration extension and found this useful component. It was the simple answer to my needs, non-commercial and very flexible. Installation was absolutely easy, and even extraordinary configuration I could do with a little support. By the way Renzos support was great: fast and very helpfull!

This extension has a great potential and as I got to know Renzo through his great support, he is continously developing this compo. I am looking forward to the next release! Thanks for amoCourse, a very good solution to course registration!

This simple and free program is exactly what I was looking for. It installed easily, and with a couple of trips to a German-English translation site, I was able to configure it to my exact specifications. It didn't even take an hour to get my courses up and available for the public to register. Thanks for a very good solution to class registration!
Owner's reply

Im happy when you're happy ;-). Sorry that some parts of the Version Beta 1.2 aren't completely translated to english. The new release 1.3 Beta is 99.9% in english. I hope you don't need longer a translation side.

I think it's a great component and found the documentation for the english and had no trouble setting it up. My only gripe was that the form that people register for the courses is only in german, other than that the component is very good. Look forward to the next update
Owner's reply

Thanks! Now you will find the registration form in english here: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/amocourse/forum/?action=ForumBrowse&forum_id=11643&_forum_action=ForumMessageBrowse&thread_id=12024
