it is really nice component with grate futures for event Registration .
i likes it's services too much.
i like the way to solve my problems quickly.
Thanks,Nathan
This is an amazing product! We needed a way to allow our members to register for monthly meetings and an annual conference. Every time our board posed a requirement, DT Register was up to the task. The custom fields are a great way to add or decrease fees for an event...lots of options available. Very flexible...I can't think of a situation that DT Register can't handle...and I've tried!

Thanks for a great extension!

We have looked for a event management system for some time and also looked at very expensive solutions. DT Register does everything it promises and MORE. More? Yes! Support ist awesome. We had some requests and the developer just implements them. No strings attached. Within the IT industry this is truly unusual and I want to sincerely thank the developers for their great work, their support and valuable pieve of software. Thank you, keep up the good work!

Having used both DT Register and Registration Pro over the last few weeks, I strongly recommend DT Register.

I needed to build a site with nearly 1200 yearly events and decided to try Reg Pro. It crashed the site with less than half the events entered due to excessive memory requirements. Their support was at best accusatory and defensive...at worst, ineffective.

I contacted Nathan about DT Register to see if I could expect the same results. He assured me I would not and promised that he and his team would help me work through any issues I had. He also promised a refund if his product failed to work...good luck getting that support from Reg Pro.

DT Register worked exactly as advertised. The site is up and running with no issues at all. Since it worked so well I had no need to test the support. However, all of my presale questions were answered nearly immediately...less than 30 minutes to receive a response.

Great extension.
I admit I was initially put-off by the fee for DTR. Then, after trying (and fighting with) all the popular non-commercial components and modules I was ready to pay for anything that would just make some logical sense and work.

What I found was that even the process of buying DTRegister is easy. No convoluted series of links and back buttons to get all the various pieces and parts. Then, once installed, I found it to be much, much more than just the sensible, working component I'd been searching and hoping for. It's intuitive, infinitely flexible, and smart. In the end, the cost of DTRegister was worth every cent for my time and sanity.

Thank you, DTHDevelopment, for making this flawless, multiple option payment platform.
I'd like to say that I am very pleased with support that was provided to me. I was recently working on upgrading all of the components on my site so that I could disable the legacy support, and, as you can imagine, upgrading these components doesn't always guarantee that your data is going to be intact afterwards.

I was pleased to see that all of my data was preserved, I went through a very easy process. I had a few questions that I submitted support ticket for to the developer and I had responses, with clear details on how to get things done, within hours and some within minutes!

Not only is it a great extension and does the job, getting help is just a breeze. And the video tutorials top it off and make it easy to follow the instructions for those, like me, who like to see the examples.
Closing on excellent, dtregister does exactly what it promises at an astonishingly low price, particularly ehen compared to reg-online and similar "services". You do need jevents.

The developer listens to the users and adds feature, bug fixes and updates on a very timely basis. He also frequents the dtregister forum regularly and answers pressing but non-urgent questions accurately and provides detailed information .

When I experienced a glitch when I updated to the 1.5 native version from the legacy version the developer made sure I got back up and running with out any losses. I was down 3rd or 4th in the cue of a very few people experiencing that particular issue so there was a slight but reasonable delay, but he resolved the issue perfectly.

If they'll add barcodes so check-in at the event can become seamless, and implement % discounts rather than fixed rates so you don't have to define a separate discount category field for each price point, the component will be excellent.
If they then integrate event creation and end the reliance on jevents, the system would be near perfect.
The latest release supports Joomla 1.5 natively, and in conjunction with the new Joomla 1.5 native JEvents and the Community Builder extensions, it makes for a truly solid package. Best of all, support from the developer is extremely prompt and courteous.

The JEvents extension, with which DT Register works in tandem, is constantly evolving too and got a recent makeover of its calendar look, among other things.

Why oh why did I wait so long to get DT Register? Maybe it is because I use EventList and was reluctant to install JEvents as well... but whatever the reason I shouldn't have waited...

DT Register is absolutely brilliant (as has been the level of support I've had on some techy issues I raised). Very well thought out. Very well executed. Effective. Simple. Professional. GREAT COMPONENT. Seems to be going places development-wise too. Recommended without reservation!
I just wanted to drop a line to say thank you for putting out such a thoughtful, well designed registration program. For a minute it was a tough going between yours and Registration Pro, which I purchased, but in the end, DT Registration simply looked cleaner and the files were easy to follow and modify.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Registration Pro. The folks there are extremely helpful and the product is a good one. It could be a bit less pricey for what it does.

The one thing you have, however, that the others do not is an intuitive group registration model. Registration for an event is not like putting something in a shopping cart. That's just the way it is. It was that group registration that proved to be the tipping point.

My site is up and running. Keep up the great work!

My Business is Seminars, so an extension for Registration to Events is one of my most needs. Because of that I bought bouth of the Components (DT Register and Event Registration Pro) to test them ... I did choose DT Register.

Honestly: It does not everything I would love it for and it has some things leaking, but all of them are "just personal issues", it would not be fair to rate it. Nearly everything it is planned to do it does extremly well. So I will try to point the most interesting points out here for you in the most fair way that I can think of. ;-)

--> Support

The support is one of the most interesting things. On the one side, mostly I get no answer. There are many customizations I would like to have, I offer to pay for them, but even when I post them in the highes priority in theire ticket-system I get no answer.

This may sound bad, but in fact: Whenever I post a real bug, the answer comes instantly and also a patch. No discussion, no delay, the service is brilliant.

How to say? If you need some individual customizations you will ned an external coder. If you "only" want to have the standart features it is great!

--> Registrations & Calendar

There is nothing to say. The registrations work brilliant, everyting is nice. The view of the calender is improving with every upgrade, and it starts to get to the best level.

Well, but it´s not yet. I am missing for example some way to insert "Informations to the seminar". Something like "klick here to register" and "click here for more information", where I can put an individual link to the "more information". Sure, for expensive seminars I have some articles about the seminar, I would like to link to them from the Events-List. But I can´t.

Also in the overview the link to register is in the name of the event. That sounds logical, but in fact some users already mailed me, because they couldn´t find out, how to register.

So for me the two columns would make sense: "Informations" and "Registration".

However, because the overview improved that much from the first version I think this developement will go on.

--> Combination with JEvents
The Features-List from Event Registration PRO points out that they have an "own" calendar, so you have to take care about two extensions. In fact, I don´t use the JEvents, it´s just installed that DT works. But it´s okay. The bad thing is only, that I have to first create a new event in JEvents, then in DT register. But that´s it, no other problem. So it´s not really "bad".

But here I am also missing the "linking between". I could for example write lots of information for a seminar into JEvents, but there is no link from DT Register back to JEvents, so the information in the calender wouldn´t get seen.

--> Hopes for the Future

There are two things that I would LOVE to get in future. The one is something that I guess others will like also, the other one is more "special", but possibly ...

-> Information-Button Mambot

There is a hack to put a "register-link" into JEvents. But it´s nothing more then a link.

I would prefear a mambot which calles a special seminar and gives information to that. So in the seminars-description I place the mambot, and it adds me a little table with the Name of the event, the price, the number of participants registered, free places, things like that.

Users like to have information, they don´t want to click on the event, then go back to the "overview" and then see how many free places are left. I like to have the information "free places" on the main description-site, and the easiest would be with a mambot.

-> I like to execute a script on the last page. FacileForms allows this, and this is the feature I am already begging the coders to do that, I offer them money but they don´t answer.

DT Register gets many (great) updates, and to have a script in the right moment I always need to pay an external coder to do that for me. It would be great (for me) to have a feature "execute this script after a registration is done.

Then things can be done like adding somebody to a newsletter, running an affiliate-script or whatever. Would be nice ...

---> Comparison with Event Registration PRO

Today the 1.5 Version of Event Registraion PRO is published, so I wanted to use it for a compairson. About two years ago the Registration PRO event was useless and DT Register was "in the begining". Now it could be time to look at the competitor again.

First of all: They compare theire Component with DT Register on theire Registration-Site. This, for my opinion, is not a good choose. They pointed out everything that "could" be bad in DT Register, but for sure they "forgot" to point out the good things. For my opinion, a competitor is never the person who could do a compairson, just trying to do so already has a "bad taste" in it.

One thing they point out is the updates. Event Registraion Pro is "Free for Version purchased" and DT Register is "only for 1 Year", so they say. In fact: For this one year I got ALL Updates, no care on the version. And it is cheaper also.

When the Upgrading is "free for version purchased" it simply means: New version, new price. This is more complicated, because I have no Idea how many upgrades are comming. Once yearly? Once every five years? When 5.2 is out, will 5.2.1 already be a "new version".

I am a little suspicious, because I couldn´t download the new version (seems like the one I bought is an "old" version), and there is also no Demo for the new version. I have no chance to look into it.

The Feedback in theire Thread is not the best, DT Register has much better reveiws. So ... well, I mailed the Coders if I can also get the "new" version for testing, and if I get I will test it and write how it works. If there is no way to test it, this is also some kind of a message, and I am not really willing to pay more money, I already have two of theire licenses that I don´t use.

Possibly (!) the new Event Registraion PRO is better then the old one. I would love to test it. But in fact: DT Register is working very, very nice and I would suggest to stay with that. With DT Register you will get a very stable and good-working component, Event Registration PRO is like an experiment: It can be something good, but there is no proof yet.

Let´s see how it works!

Best wishes, Ju lian!

Thanks Julian for the detailed review! This is very helpful info for other users. I did want to mention that our last release has improved on a couple of the items you mentioned... you can now provide all the info, pics, etc that you want to detail an event. This info is put in a content article, then the event in DT Register can now link directly to that article, then the plugin will automatically add registration buttons to the bottom of the article. Oh, and it also works in 1.5 native now too. Please let us know what you think of the new event details structure. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and for using DT Register!

I really appreciate how the developer was willing to help with any issues I had in developing the registration form on my site.
This component worked just as all of the features described!

I had a bit of trouble running DTRegister after installing (I'm a new joomla user). I submitted a ticket and it was answered in UNDER ONE HOUR with what I needed to do. Which was to install the CURL library. After that it worked great.

Also, a feature I was interested in was added within days in the next release. I went to their forum and suggested it. It was a simple request/feature, but I was happy to see that it was added and taken care of so quickly.

DTRegister's support, whether through email or their forum, is top notch. Whatever questions or needs I have they are answered promptly and with instructions I can follow.

A good functional product at a great price, and fantastic support.

Thanks!
Summary: DT Register is a good system that filled 90% of my needs, but to score 5 stars would have needed to have more features for that price. Having said that, I am still very happy with the purchase. A 1.5 native version has been in the wings for a while but still no sign - this also might have bumped up the rating. Perseverance through the vendor's website is also necessary to find the info you want and to find the demo site.

Details:
After extensive testing on their demo environment.
I purchased 2.4.2 and had a slight hiccup in installation which the support team resolved within 12 hours (overnight) very courteously and extremely efficiently. These changes were then rolled out in their 2.4.3 release.

The continual addition of features and bug fixes is great and they obviously listen to their customer base.

I would say the weak point for me is the need to keep payment records (apart from full payment) separate.
This is a great component.

I had to scope a solution for a fairly big 2 day conference with concurrent sessions. Whilst the solution may not be as super slick as the bespoke solutions that charge you 3 bucks a head upwards (this can get into the $000’s) it really delivers. Our marketing guy went to a presentation for one of those types of softwares and came out with some high expectations – auto population of reg forms, email notifications and back end booking. All this is possible with Dtreg.

I had a few problems, mainly trying to get my head around how to present a multi day booking with concurrent sessions. This was done fairly obviously once I’d got the pointers from DTH. Their simple approach is actually an elegant and functional way of doing things. (I was thinking too complicatedly)

They’re releasing an update every month or so at the moment, so features are being added or refined regularly. I’ll give it five stars.

BTW the customer support is great. If you have any problems they come and sort it out for you – amazing!
To be fair, this is the best option i've found. However, there's a few fatal flaws that I've found:

1) members cannot cancel their registration or update the # of people attending. For free events, this is a must.
2) no way to see a list of registered attendees on the front-end. Many times more people will come if they see that is coming.

The only advantage I can see of this over the free attend_events module is that:
1) you can group events on the front end
2) you can see the # of attendees on the front end.

Is that worth $60? Relative answer, to some it is, to some it isn't.
Owner's reply

1) The items you say mention as flaws are not promoted as being available features so if you needed that, you should not have purchased.
2) The only advantages of DT Register over the free Attend Events are not just the two things you mentioned... of course... there are MANY other advantages.
3) The "flaws" you mention are both things that we are including very soon. We are always adding new features to always keep DT Register as the best option for event registration.

A 2-star rating because it's missing a couple features that you want is not fair... particularly since these features will soon be there and you won't be able to change your vote :)

Superb component, worth every penny! It's just fun when something does what it should and you don't have to hack half of your site to get it to do so. Great work!

The guys at DTH Development hit a home run here! This extension is outstanding! Easy to install, easy to use, and had me up and running in no time at all. If you need to take online registrations for anything, This is Your Extension!

Thanks DTH!

I had an issue with the "Read Terms & Conditions". The DT Team looked at my site and discovered it was a problem with the footer in my template.
For $60.00, you get exceptional customer service, an exceptional product that is being continually updated to meet the needs of customers, and the ability to have a professional presence on the web that meets the needs of YOUR customers!
GREAT JOB DT TEAM!
You know that book "Joomla For Dummies"? That book was written for me - yet I was able to install and use DT Register quickly and easily. The amazing thing is it works perfectly. Their online tutorials answer every question. I set this up for a non-profit organization holding an event, with PayPal as the payment processor. Registrations are rolling in and everybody is happy. Especially me! I highly recommend DT Register.
