I am highly doubtfull that you ever even installed it - 80% or so of the code base is completely changes there has been a complete rewrite of Groups, Venues, Events, Submissions, Google Views, Upcoming events, etc. etc. pretty much all of the dynamics of the component including the basics of the entire engine behind events which is a 4th dimensional system in redEVENT while only beeing a 3 dimensional system in eventlist leaves me with the clear impression that you clear did _not_ try redEVENT v2.0x series.

We put in around 3500-4000 man hours into redEVENT during 2009 and released more then 50 versions of redEVENT with redFORM and it is used by educational institions with more then 5000 students for all of thier classes - and right now we are setting it up in the newest version (not publicly released yet) for 50 educational institutions in a joint submission system for thier educations.

So beyond beeing a massively advanced event system where you can alter pretty much all elements that supports tags, custom filtering based on tags, categories, venues etc. + advanced google views etc. and having taken the step from just a "dead" event system to an event system building platform where people without programming skills can actually do soo much more then in other event systems - redEVENT can actually be used for quite complex systems where you typically see commercial software beeing sold for these kinds of solutions at prices of 200-400 times more then a 1 year subscription costs at redCOMPONENT - And then you get 20 others extensions along for the exact same price... and to be honest 5,75 euro a month for access to redCOMPONENT including software upgrades, support and documentation and a dev team of 13 full time devs working on the different projects is extremely little to pay.

redEVENT is not at all integrated to VirtueMart and voting on our event system with a 1 star rate because you need that and we don't offer that is completely unserious and removes any point to the voting system on JED.

Reading the first line on the website is really a huge step towards understanding what your downloading:

"redEVENT is a brand new Joomla 1.5 native MVC event component. Build over the popular but yet limited event component eventlist, the redEVENT fork along with its 100% integration to redFORM has taken the ease and flexibility of creating and managing events and bookings to a whole new level."

Beyond that redEVENT and redFORM is light years away from what eventlist offers and as such the flexibility and dynamics of redEVENT integrated with redFORM can not be compared nor paralleled with what tventlist has to offer - but ofcause if you dont need anything more then eventlist can offer its not to hard to figure out you should get that ;)

Also with updates up to 3-4 times a week and a roadmap for constant integrations to 3rd party components and a continues development of redEVENT, redFORM and redCOMPETITION we offer a completely different kind of extension service then a freetime rarely updated extension does.
