Great job! Perfectly working. easy to customize. no weird output.
I have just installed and am testing the component and module on my test site. I am very pleased and anxious to get started using this on a production site.
I find it very easy to use. It also appears very well laid out from a users point of view. I also find it very well thought out and planned.
And I also like the idea that it doesn't use a calendar. I never did like the idea of clicking on a calendar to see what is happening on a date. I much prefer this method of a list of events.

This component is great, however there is one major flaw with it. Users cannot edit their own events from the front end. Maybe i am overlooking something, but from what I can see, there is no way to edit events from the front end. Is there any plans to have this feature in the near future?
Well, I think there is not much room left to say. I think the title of this review said it all. A great component. I was just wondering, when are we going to have a new release? Because this component rocks!
Christoph great ideas and great job.
(I'm thinking of donating after next release ;) ).

I really like it, it's easy, Map24 included, very cool.
The only thing that I miss (or maybe I didn't look well enough) is some plugin for the newsletter component in ComBuilder. It would be great if you directly can send email to everyone who is registered to an event in case of updates of changes for example.

The idea is very nice but...
- The EventList modules parameter Title/Location just show Location even when I have chosen Title.
- If I choose to link to details on Date it looks OK, but if I choose to link on Title or No, the Eventlist suddenly shows booth Time/Date/Title but none of them are linked.
- The Calendar Module show the date wrong. It show the event the day before... an event at 2007.02.14 is shown as 2007.02.13.
- The need of an Venue is not good. It should be possible to disable it.
An other BIG problem for this is that the homepage for this is not in english... I have no possibility to get information or help there...
This Component has the possibility to be a very great component but the above must be fixed before...

Having tried many of the calendar / events programs out there even having paid for Thyme, this caters best to our needs.
However having said that it is not without significant problems and there is little support from either the make, users or anyone in the Joomla forums.
When you combine this component with some of the modules i.e. the calendar module and the event list module, problems come into play.
There is no am/pm option but if you enter the time in 24 hour mode they appear a day out in the calendar module or sometimes don't appear in the events module.
This would be the best component by far if only these issues were sorted out or if someone answered requests for help.
Regards
Todd

Like a few other posters here I grabbed this extension as I had a few problems with some other ones. This is definitely not an alpha product, maybe its not as polished as schulu would like it for production, but it looks good to me. This is my first foray into Joomla! at all and this extension has definitely enhanced my impressions.
I am using it to publish sports fixtures, most of the time they're at one of a handful of fixed venues, and for this the location stuff sets this extension apart. I loved being able to customise the listing view as well.
My wishlist:
Graphical Calendar view, even a little module one
Venue to be optional, and/or to enable one-off venues as well as pre-entered ones.

EventList is nothing short of excellent with the flexibility and options we need to get the job done.
Like with a few others that have mentioned it, the only requests are the options to have events that span over a number of days and can be recurring (like every monday / 7 days, monthly etc).
Great work guys! Certainly recommend this one.

easy to install and handle.
Great is the integration to Community Builder, so that Members can register to an event.
Everything seems to be perfect, except one thing:
It is not possible to have events longer than one day.
But as i read at the developers forum this should come in the next version... (can`t wait for this)
Sunny regards

I've used this module on several sites. My only wish (request) would be to make the venue an optional category or at least change the dependency on it. It's a bit cumbersome and doesn't always apply.
However, that being said, I will continue to use this because it has a great feature set and works well.

I've chosen to use this component simply because a couple of the other Events components I tried didn't work (had serious bugs) or didn't suit. However one thing Eventlist lacks, which makes it almost useless for large lists, is an easy way to sort the Venues in the dropdown box. It's fine if you have only a few venues but when dozens or hundreds of venues are entered by frontend users it's very difficult to see if a Venue is already on the list beacuse they do not appear in alphabetical order, with the latest entry showing at down the bottom of the list. The positioning method on the backend doesn't help either as moving each venue to its sorted position once it's been entered is so time consuming.
This would be close to perfect if Venues were automatically sorted into alphabetical order once entered.
There also seems to be a problem with the holding of archived events although this could be something I've set incorrectly but it appears that once an event has been archived it only remains there (in the archive) for 1 day or so then it disappears completely.
It would also be nice if some of the fields like ZIP, COUNTRY and TIME were not compulsory entry fields as info for these is not always required in some applications.
I hope the author continues with the development of this otherwise great component.

Very useful.
Covers the basic needs fitting 80% of the users while keeping simplicity which is important.
Missing facilities like duration time can be entered in the description.
For events with no 'Venue' (location), raise a Venue 'N/A' and select this.
Keep the military time as it fits European users as well as Asiatic and African users.

Wow! This is in Alpha status but works better than most Betas I've played with. I'm not using this calendar the way it was written for I'm sure, but the thing is so configurable that you can use it for anything. I really like this and can't wait to see what else they do to it.
It should be noted that they creators state in the directions that you shouldn’t use this in production, but it is stable enough in my opinion. Now that isn’t to say there are not potential hack problems or something. I am simply saying it works, and I’m running it production. (my users love it!)
