I had this module, installed, up and running including events within an hour. Make sure you check out the global configuration to make things even easier. This really is a great extension that I am so thankful to have found. All of the instructions are in a different language and I figured it out without one bit of documentation. So EASY!

I was using a different one that made me want to pull my hair out.

This extension allows you to decide if the person needs to be registered or not, just lots of options.

I would like to know how to remove code at bottom..and if there is a way to change the time format to 12 vs. 24 clock.

We are trialing this extension currently to use for volunteer registration for a nonprofit and working through some bugs that are probably due to our own status as "Joomla newbies". Looks like a good component, but am having difficulty following the English translation of the text on the developers' webpage. Anyone here willing to post some links to webpages where they have SEMINAR in use? Thanks.

I have been using it for about 1 month, and I like it verty much.
The only thing I can find that I wish it had is the ability to link directly to an event. I would like to have the option of copying the event link to reference it in another page. Instead am copying the whole seminar link, which means the user has to scroll down all the events to find the one they need.
Other than that, it has great information in the front end with different information according to user level (non registered, registered, special, etc).
It is a great tool, thanks for writing it.!

Hello pgomez,

you can link to an event by using the following url: http://www.xyz.com/index.php?option=com_seminar&task=3&cid=XXX, where XXX ist the ID of the event, shown at the backend.

This is a good extension, the only reason it is not excellent for me are some small bugs.
but keep on the great work.

IS it just a back end?or you can have users directly book from front end as well?i am not seing anything to publish at front end...also the help documentation is not good enough altho there are just lot of instructions of various methods...but it fails to explain the total flow of the componant and the guy have not mentioned any particular way of getting it right!i guess he is non english speaker!anyways if you could just tell me how do we publish it at front end that would be great and then i would like to add a clean and clear method as to what needs to be done to get it right!

After struggling with other components to build a booking system, after paying for commercial components so hard to use and understand, finally I found this excellent work, just a few clicks to install and configure, really impressive (and free).
Many thanks,
Marco

I only installed this component for testing after I installed EventList for my dragonboat club - but this is great! However I can't continue using it because it is heavily customised for just seminars.

Of course I can edit the code, but maybe the component could be made more general in future versions?

Also, the booking system is probably the best of the free offerings so far - many calendars simply don't offer it. My suggestion for a future feature is for the event owner and administrator to be able to book on someone else's behalf. Also if the event owner/administrator could record attendance, that would be good too.

Well done!
Owner's reply

Hi albs,

thank you very much for your review. I want you to know that an event owner and an administrator can book on someone else's behalf since V1.22. On the tab "My offerings" you have to click on the button representing the number of bookings ...

I was looking at those we have to pay for. Messing around with the free one. I thought they where al a bit confusing. Installed this even though, it was completely fresh.

I was surprised how well its made. Very impressed!

A great component that works really well - lots of functionality and fairly easy to setup. The lack of documentation makes you work a little harder, but most of the component is able to be configured for your own use - so that is a huge plus. Really well done, well designed component and module.

Very nice. Easy to use and implement. Nice implementation of google maps and issueing certificates.

It would be great if it was linked/integrated with an open source calendar module like jevents.

I would like to be able to make some of the mandatory fields optional.

I'm still a novice in the joomla universe and this extencion works perfect.
its easy to install and setup.
the only thing I could use is some translations ( danish) or the possibility to make some headlines yourself

Love this extension, it does exactly what I want it to do. I would like to translate the extension into Dutch, but I can't seem to find the language files...
