Having played around with virtually all the social medai systems out there, both joomla based and non joomla based looking for a flexible system. I was impressed with elgg but getting it to work within Joomla was a nightmare. This script does that very well. I have to say I am impressed with it after having used it. It does what I need it do to and is both flexible and powerfull. My only criticism is the difficulty in getting it adapted totally to my site, but that is more because of my lack of skill than a problem with the script.
All in all not a bad script and I think it is worth the money that is being charged, as it delivers all the power I could need.

I installed the "FREE" version of this extension to find out that the "Component" does nothing in the Joomla! control panel.
The reason I downloaded the component was to test it for my clients. I find it appalling that a company that advertises a "FREE" trial under Joomla! that, simply, a lie.
In short, don't waste your time with this component. After looking at their "Support" area, there are a number of bugs as well as the lie they tell.
This "Component" should not be included in the Joomla! extensions directory.

Our site clearly indicates that the free version contains no visual integration into Joomla. It will install Elgg through the Joomla installer and provide User synchronization between the two frameworks, features not easily accomplished until J+Social.
The professional version provides visual integration, the Elgg mod installer and the Back end integration into Joomla.
