What is new in current (1.3.0) version?

General
1. Ticket priority, importance and type
2. Mail notification plugin. Flexible mail letters and new events
3*. Very detailed Manual (with well-formed examples)
4*. Tutorials for making languages and styles
5. Six different styles gathered into the single package, which you may
install at once in the Themes option
6. English translation extended due to Lighthouse
enhancements and therefore accomplished
7*. When upgrading the component, attachments were being removed. Now
Lighthouse is safe of this issue
8. Time zones
9*. Personal settings and details can be edited by the end user (My Account) or administrators (User Manager)
10. Checked out records while editing (when somebody is editing the record
of some entity, it is locked to prevent the others from puting the same data into the database)

BackEnd
1. Themes option allows now to install and remove themes (except the basic
one, which is the default)
2. New subgroups hierarchy involve on Groups option instead of Group Permissions (now we can manage subgroups and set permissions not only for category, but for groups as itselfs)
3*. Ticket Viewer: now we can move tickets between categories, open/close
and edit them
4. Assign or unassign advisor(s) for some category (improved feature for
systems with large number of advisors – now you do not need to select ‘Nobody‘)

FrontEnd
1. Login form with forgot links; Login and Register buttons
2. Captcha on the user registration page
3. Menu plugin (dock menu based on fisheye effect)
4*. User can view account details and tickets of other persons
5*. User can view own tickets (My Tickets)
6. Primitive search by ticket id
7. Counting the number of ticket views

Trying to keep an all integrated portal-type system using Joomla, Lighthouse Helpdesk certainly fits the bill. The developer, Kostya, is amazing. He is very responsive to all bug reports and requests for enhancements. He works very hard as making Lighthouse top-of-the-line. He turns around patches and version almost weekly and we're not talking about broken stuff but more workflow functions.

I recommend this 5 stars.

I think this seems like another simple ticketing system. But the approach is very compelling. It's a cross between a knowledge base, Yahoo ask, and a ticketing system where others can see the questions as well as answers. Thanks.
