A Joomla! 1.5.x native Module that makes it easy to insert Google Chatback Code.

Provides a basic GoogleTalk Chatback widget native for Joomla 1.5 and its position can be adjusted from admin panel.
Your site's visitors can click the button and launch Google Chatback with you directly from your website. When users, click the button, a Google Chatback window pops-up which connects directly to your Google chat.

Visitors do not need their own Google account nor do they need to have any client software installed on their computer.

Tested Browser:
IE6, IE7, IE8, Mozilla Firefox 3.0+, Safari 4.0+, Google Chrome 4.0+, Opera, Netscape.

Coming Soon Version 6.2 (Release Date: 2010)
1. No need to split the tk code or google chatback code for entering. Enter the Complete code, our program will split it from the entered one.
2. Image Choosing option.

Bug Fix: Live Support Image floating behind something has been fixed.

1. If offline means it will Hide the Live Support Image.

After lots of searching online and thinking that I was going to have to pay at least $20 per month to offer a chat service on my website I came across this extension and had it installed, customized and working on my site in 20mins. I love it.

The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is because when a guest starts up a chat they are shown the message “You are chatting with an unidentified user. Be careful what you discuss.” Very damaging for my businesses credibility as it appears Google don’t trust us. This isn’t a fault of the Extension, but a problem with the overall solution. There are a huge amount of requests to fix this online in Google’s forums, hopefully they get onto it one day soon.

The other problem is that whenever a customer clicks close on the floating chat button it will come back again when you refresh the page or move to a new page. Is there a way to record that the customer has closed it and not show it again? I have set my options to only display it from the home page so this will stop it showing so often, but it would be great to not show it again after the customer has closed it once.

This is perfect and free for live help chat. I also had problems with the documentation but then I found the answer. DO NOT COPY TK=. Copy after that up to the & but do not copy &. That is your code, and don't forget to be logged in to your google chat. It works great and I chatted with a user 2 min after install. Thank you very much for the free mod!

I just installed this module, added my TK code and signed in on my iGoogle page, and the module works great. The reivews below that cant get it to work either aren't doing something correctly, perhaps adding the &w=200&h=60 (the width and height code after the tk code. dont add anything after the &amp or the &amp itself.

Also I emailed the developer asking for for a tip about how to remove something and he sent the modified module to me! Excellent module, excellent customer service, this is what makes Joomla and the community around joomla the best CMS system out there. Well Done!

I had high hopes for this module based on other reviews. My site, like others posted here, won't show the module image / doesn't work. I've attempted to contact them for support twice (email and website contact form) and have not heard a word. Very disappointed.

I didnt checked whether my application support Joomla 1.6.X...

If it is not working means I will release the Plugin in the next edition instead of Module...

If u entered the tk code correctly means it will work surely...

If u entered the code fully without separating the tk code means it will not work...

I like your module!

But I need to know who is the "guest" i'm chatting with!

My solution:
I link the Support image to a hidden menu item.
This menu item links to an article which has the Google Chat site included as an iframe AND a simple Instruction for a self written content plugin.
{mailto}USERID{/mailto}

Everytime a logged in user enters the chat you will receive an email withe the "guest-chatter's" Name and the Domain of the site they klicked the support button.

Hi,

As you asked for redirection to Contact Us page...

Instead of redirecting contact page, I have hidden the Live Support image itself.

Explanation:
I have written a code to check whether user is online or not.

If user is online means it will display the live support image and when a user clicks it. Chatting window will be initiated and speak to live support person.

If user is offline means Live support image will not be displayed...

Review:

This is an excellent 100% free module. I have to congratulate the creators for such a fantastic idea, now my website has LiveSupport for my customers. No other fees, easy to install and to configure. TO FUTURE USERS: Don't forget to insert the CORRECT TK code otherwise it will not work! The documentation provided on the website is also sufficient.

Suggestions:

I wish it had a few more options (for example the ability the selection to appear on specific pages and not to all pages). It would be also nice if the google text could be replaced with a small discrete custom icon as an extra option.

Conclusion:

Besides these minor suggestions I think that this plugin is a 5 star plugin. Again congratulations for your good job!

In the Edition 5.0 I have updated the code to w3c validation. So 99% I have completed expect only one issue that is allowtransparency for iframe.

100% w3c pass will be given in Edition 5.2 or 6.0

Very professional looking and easy to use. I needed for my customers to be able to chat with me through my website and this does it very nicely. I few issues on the google side that I could deal without, like when a guest clicks to chat with you google announces "You are chatting with an unidentified user. Be careful what you discuss." But that's not due to the app.
