Simple to install and works flawlessly.

Installs easily and perfect back-end control. Just wondering if it can also have a broadcast module where i can put it on the top of the main page. Every shout will be link to the channel and what ever msg post in the channel will be reflected on the main page's shoutbox / broadcast?

A bit laggy, but compared to the price of Blastchat, jPFChat gets the job done. My online guild has a place to chat now outside of games.

This is an easy to install, easy to use and easily customizable chat component. It has the features I wanted for my Sports News website, plus it can handle a decent amount of people. The only downside is the speed at which it works, some messages may take up to 10 seconds to become visible. Never-the-less it's a great extension I'd recommend it.

I found this extensions very good, it works great, it is very to install and then is very very nice!
Maybe the worst thing is that it's a little bit slow when you're chatting, I mean that you have to wait 1 second before to see display your message.
Anyway is the best ever tried!

Though this chat component is having everything that is required it lacks in terms of look and 1-to-1 chatting. If it can have one-to-one chat with video features it can go miles.

This extension does everything I want it to do. It would be an excellent addition to your website.

Definitely does what it claims. Simple download, simple installation, simple and very configurable. And the displays are very good (u can choose among several ones). I would recommend it to anyone who needs to have a public room, private rooms between users, and no restriction on the number of users.

When I look for extensions for Joomla I want them to be easy to install, set up sand use. jPFChat is all of the above. I have been using there chat program since 1.0 and it is now a much more muture program and a great addition to a Joomla site that needs a simple chat program.

It works well, but isn't very customizable as others have mentioned. All in all, it is quality code that will do what it says.

My only complaint is that they keep spamming me with requests to come review the product here.

Their website is currently down, so unsubscribing is quite impossible.

I think that begging for a review or donation even once is pretty tacky. THREE times is disgusting.

I'm trying this extensions to add "online support" feature to my website. It's very very good for this purpose, the only things that are missing are:
* alert, through a sound, when new people enter the chat room
* introduction message shown to people which etner the chat room (few lines of welcome and instructions about using the chat room).

I used jPFChat for two Joomla sites I have, and in both of them it worked right out the box with everything I needed. Installation is easy, I still could not find something which would cause a bug. I wish all extensions were like that.

Excellent, of course. But I'm sure there is always space for improvement. I would mention the template system (installable templates? More bundled templates in the package?) and maybe the alignment of buttons after translation -- the pt-br translation I used caused the buttons to "jump" a line (plus, actually and in respect to all the efforts, it was not translated very well).

Thank you very much for this. I saw other forum extensions here, but I didn't even test them because there is a lot of users complaining about difficulties and problems. I don't know which features they have; but jPFChat seems to be the best for beginners and non-PHP programmers, and it has everything most people will ever need.

It's always nice when you get an extension that just installs easily and works 'right-out-of-the-box'.

I think the developers behind jPF Chat did a great job integrating MooTools into the chat and also adding the detection if MooTools is loaded. It makes it one of the more stable chat systems out there. And since it's free, it won't break the bank.

I hope it gets developed a little bit more. It's a little slow, not tragically slow though, and I would like to see some more options, such as the ability to pull another user into a chat.

I will definitely keep my eye out for the next version.

Cons: Kind of slow and I wish there was a module that you could display just one of the chat rooms on every page.

it's working nicely on my Joomla site.. but its responds is kind of slow.. but all and all, it's perfect for those who need a simple chatbox, just to keep in touch..
