The Joomla! Extensions Directory ™

Invision PowerBoard (IPB) recent topics ModuleLanguage

A very simple yet customizable module to display recent topics from your IPB-based forum in Joomla. Works perfect with IPB 3.x and above.

2 extra options added in 1.7:

- show or hide last poster avatar;
- display closed topics.

You can set:

- number of recent topics;
- number of displayed characters in topic title and forum name;
- date format;
- forum location;
- show last post date, author, avatar and forum;
- forums, which shouldn't be displayed;
- display only open topics;
- show first and last post text;
- show text above and below topics list.

NOTE! If you have problems with displaying non-Latin characters in the module, open mod_ipb_latest.php, uncomment all commented strings (you won't miss'em) and comment the above ones. This should solve all possible display problems. If it won't and you can't fix it yourself - feel free to contact me.

Fantastic to have this extension which not only pulls in latest topics but also latest replies. It's the latest replies that make this extension special as latest topics can always be pulled in via RSS.

There's a bug at the moment though... it shows topics/posts that have been soft-deleted and which are visible only to admins, not to members or guests. So if someone clicks on it, they get the "you are not allowed to view this topic" page. Hopefully this might get fixed in a future version as this extension is so very useful!

Since they removed paste bin, it became pretty hard to hide soft-deleted topics in 3rd party extensions. But I'll look into it. It bothers me as well.

Perfect!! Suggestion for new feature: add the avatar of user near the post title :)

Good idea! I'll add it in the nearest future for sure.

Great job. Please create another great Joomla module that will work with the IP.Converge "converge.CheckEmail" function. We really need Joomla modules that will utilize the IP.Converge features.

Thanks Again.

Would love to help, but I am not a good programmer. Can only do very simple stuff like this module :-)
