Hi, yes, if you're using the 'joomla' plugin for tal.ki, then joomla logins should work, we call that single sign-on. Sometime there can be conflicts with other plugins and then single sign-on won't work and we default to the third-party logins.
As an FYI, if you prefer not to have the joomla logins, you can install the standard tal.ki widget from http://tal.ki/ (and don't select the joomla plugin)
I wish so bad there was a good native forum app that was free. Sure there are the pay ones, but I am just developing a game fan site. That means I don't want to invest to much in it. And in my honest opinion, all this extension is doing is making it harder to find an actual good Joomla forum.
Hi, somebody from Tal.ki here. I'm sorry to hear you had a negative experience. It sounds like the plugin may have had an issue on install as we do support joomla logins on the plugin. Is it possible you installed the native javascript code from http://tal.ki/ rather then the plugin at http://tal.ki/plugins/ ?
The plugin will attempt to match the layout, color, and font face of the site it's embedded on. You also have the option of overriding this with CSS. There is more info about this at http://help.tal.ki/
We give out almost all the admin options for free, the only limit between the free and pro version is the number of recent topics displayed. We do not limit the number of posts nor members for the free version.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and I hope you will give the plugin another try.
Great work, people...keep it up! ^_^
