Once I had to choose easy and simple forum board and ccBoard took my look. So, the board has no elementary functional that any forum boards have and what is most important, ccBoard have problem with spam protection, so my website were under attack of spam robots, so as soon I've removed ccBoard, the problem has gone.
I wish developers to work more on this release to make it more stable.
Owner's reply

ccBoard has been equipped with Captcha support from the early realeases onwards to restrict spam. Please update to the latest release, this includes a more reliable secure captcha system.

The project seems to have been abandoned by the developer. The board never made it to an official release as only made 1.2RC. If fact, there has not been an update for a year.

Looking at the support forum, it appears that the admin/mod who created the "Announcements" board, has even removed their own account.

The whole support forum is virtually all spam now.

Shame, it had real potential. :(

I really like this extension, and have been using it for about 6 months. However, it does not allow captcha within its built-in login. Other than that, I love it.

I installed this a year ago, and have to admit was very easy to install and customize, though since then there is little or no support, the developers seem to given up with it and does have a few bugs.

Also there are a few features missing which are needed.
Ive swapped over to Agora now.

I love this component big time. I am too seeing the word wrap issue, but I'll just open the forums in a new tab in the meantime. I recommend this forum to anyone... come check mine if you need to see how good this component really really is!

Thanks CodeClassic!!

Would love to give this forum a 5 star but I cannot as my guests like to upload JPGs into topics and ccBooard only seems to attach them, unless I have missed it in the documentation. If I have not missed it, it is very poor to now allow this.

Other than that, its smooth, loaded straight off and is very easy to use.

I install this ccBoard and things run by itself. People who use dark layout with white letters should make another same template with dark letters and assign it to ccBoard page, rathet than messing up with css. No expirience with forums and still not figure out everything butt i think that is GOOD ENOUGH.
Regards and thanks

I'm reading many people comments before making a choice for choosing this component. I installed in one of client test server and it looks great. I suggest if your user community is not very big then having ccboard is big plus since it stays within Joomla. you don't have to build any bridge component to synchronize users and their profile.

Nice Job! Well Done.

this forum was exactly what i needed. quick to install and configure, easy to adjust to suit my website, the captcha for all posts is great. The look of this forum is fresh and modern unlike many others and easily customisable.

A good no nonsense forum. I use it on my own site to offer user support and it works well. It includes plenty of features without being over-complicated.

There are some minor niggles: some of the avatars supplied are a bit odd, and I also find some issues with the styling. But overall it is a very good extension if you want a fairly basic forum system.

I think it really needs some extra work in order to compete with the other free Forum Components that are available. First of all the layout needs more developing, I have tested it with a Website I am building right now where I use the Yootheme - Explorer theme. Everything is messed up, menus are jumping over other menus, you cannot even read the "BOARD_HOME". The layout gives me the impression of sloppy programming work. I also do not like the not user friendly namings on the bottom of the layout as: "CCB_TOTAL_CATEGORIES, CCB_TOTAL_FORUMS, etc.". For the simple user all these are useless and unnecessary. I think the developers must see other efforts like Kunena which are far better and more well developed. The only thing I liked is the Avatars and the selection of different languages, but even on that not everything is translated making it again non-user friendly.

Okay, I admit this is a pretty good forum, but its got a couple big holes in it that probably make it unusable for people, especially in North America. They could be simple problems for the owner to fix, but this forum is apparently not getting updated every year.

The problems? You are forced to get someone's full birth date, something most people don't want to give. Yes, it does default to today's date, but its confusing to users.

The thing for North American people is that the date MUST be YYYY-MM-DD and you can't change it even though there is a place to change it in the configuration.

What happens if you do change the date format? People are no longer able to save their profile or change their avatar. Yes, its true. It is major odd thing that date format controls functionality, but that's the way it is and it can be a nightmare.

The other main thing? No matter what width you set for the right margin, there is no word wrap so the first line goes on endlessly and unseen. When you save it the text pops back in, but what good is it if people can't see what they're typing?

The programmers only suggestion--use the default Joomla template. I don't think too many people will want to do that.

By the way, I checked as carefully as I could and it appears that the product owner has not been on the his own forum since November 2009. He used to answer questions there a lot, but he seems to be missing in action now.

This is a really good forum in many ways... but be careful before you fall in love with it.

I was looking for a quick and easy forum component to create a simple forum for a client's site. Having tried both Simplest Forum and JooBB, I'm glad I stumbled across ccBoard which is much simpler and easy to configure and without bugs. So, if you're looking for a simple forum component that does that job without causing any headaches, save yourself some time and use this component.

after hours of messing with ninja board which is more like a an open bbs, and days of trying to hack and fix kunena where i kept getting an error on a fresh install that said [an error occurred while processing this directive], i finally gave up and tried ccboard.

in short, it does what I need and it integrates with community builder login smoothly!

i hope you stick around, i'd hate to switch due to incompatibility with joomla upgrades!

keep it up

The best board I have ever usede but it does a have some minor bugs the fixes to which you will need to wade through the support forums to find as I don't think it is being developed any further.

When I first started using the board the designer Thomas was extreemely active in development but he raraley answers any quaestions on the support boards and it has been over 6 months sinc ethe last update was released.....thus I think you should only use this board if you are comfortable with tweaking and adding fixes yourself.

Having said all that it is an excellent component.
