The most recent stable release, recommended for production websites running J! 2.5 and J! 3.1, is Kunena 3.0.0. This version supersedes K 2.0.
The essential differences between Kunena 3.0 and Kunena 2.0 are
* K 3.0 does not operate on J! 1.5 websites; and
* K 3.0 can only be installed on J! 2.5 and J! 3.x websites
Kunena 3.0 is a project that has been some ten months in the making. Among other things, the main design objectives for Kunena 3.0 were to remove many lingering legacy issues (caused by the requirement in older versions to maintain J! 1.5 websites) as well as to keep pace with current and emerging Joomla trends.

I really liked this extensions, because it makes really simple to create a working forum. I'm not totally satisfied by the graphical appearance, but this doesn't prevent me to suggest it to everyone who need a forum solution.

I tried all the top 5 forums last year and then decided to work this one and I am happy that I chose the best one. I downloaded 1.5.7 and last month updated to 1.5.9 with out any trouble. Support forum is good and you find answers to many question easily. Love the way how it integrates with PMS system UddeIM and the blogs with discuss bot. Easily customizable

Kunena rocks - I've been running a vBulletin forum for years but now we're converting to Kunena because it has better features and integrates seamlessly with Joomla.
The Kunena support forum is very usefel and helpful as well - I had a query for a template change that was answered quickly and with complete success.

A really first class extension and forum. I had it up and running in minutes. I did encounter a problem with uploading files, though. MS Word docs were fine, but it didn't like Adobe .pdf format. After a bit of head scratching I discovered that if I added .pdf files to the list of accepted file formats in the Kunena upload configuration settings it all worked fine.
This extension has added greatly to my new website. Thank you Kunena!

They literally helped me to set up my forum from start to end. Despite of the fact that I am a novice user when it comes to the forum, my forum came up very well.

I've been using Kunena for about a year and half now (when it was formerly Fireboard), and I have been constantly impressed with the development and quality. Not only does it work as advertised consistently, the support is incredible!! I've been having an issue that could just as easily be a problem with Community Builder, yet Kunena's moderator, Sozzled, keeps working with me to find the solution. I've had commercial components that didn't have half the support that Kunena's team provides. And that makes all the difference!
