I purchased this product for use with Joomla with Community Builder.
I had issues making it work correctly, i raised an email (as per the order confirmation email), and then received a reply telling me to look in their forum.
On looking in their forum there is no help, i raised another email only to be told the product doesn't work with Community Builder !!!
I am really disappointed with the support offered and i would think twice before i ever purchased anything from Universal Informatique again.

Hello and thank you for your review,
Yet I mentioned on the product page UIajaxIM that does not work with CB or with JS.
In my case, I am fully satisfied with the number of clients I have, I am more proud of them and they are proud of me.
You know why my support forum is empty? because all who have used my software did not find problems
Installation was a breeze and everything was up and running in no time... Placing UIajaxIM in a wrapper improved the integration of the IM into the website template...
Only one thing that I was disappointed in or perhaps I have done something wrong... It doesn't recognize when a user is already logged onto the site and forces them to log on again in order to use the IM...
A couple of ideas for future versions... Setting access levels to rooms... ie An admin can create a room and set it's access to admin only... Then only other admins can see and enter that room for chat...
Make it possible that the IM can be popped out to a seperate window so users can continue browsing the site... This would need to be done with both the IM window and individual chat rooms...
I'm sure I can think of some more ideas :) but overall I am very happy with this product...

I need to know if it's possible to try the users group who can get access to chat.
For example, if only authors can get into chat.
I think may be a good option if it's possible.

This component is so great, and it would be more better if it supports CB registration. It works great with old registered members with CB, but when you register like new member, after that you can't login with your username and password in UIajaxIM.I hope so this will be fix it very soon. And also it would be great if this Chat will have CB plugin in future. Great component, best chat component for joomla community.

Sorry that the component does not meet all the expectations of community joomla! for the moment the component is compatible with joomla! users only, in the near future will be working with CB and jomsocial
We've been waiting for this component to come up that Ajax IM will be integrated at Joomla. Thank you so much for this.
However, hope that on the next update, when a user logs in in the frontend of Joomla, he/she will no longer be prompt to login in the chat room..

This extension has many great features, is lightweight, have 2 beautiful and customizable skins, and is the best right now, i know that it have a few bugs but it is normal because it is the first version, and i know that it's installation is a little bit different than a normal component but it's really a very good one.

Not the best chat component I've seen, but not terrible. It has potential. You have to open a separate window to use the chat, it doesn't always recognize who is online, but it has a nice search feature as long as you know the username of the person you want to chat with.
If this component could be developed to function like the chat feature on Facebook it would be excellent.

it will be the best chat component for joomla and a reference tool yet
i installed this extension on my joomla 1.5.12 site, first off it stated that there was a missing file the en-gb language file, but said install successful so i went on, then i followed the steps in the component config and it said 'install complete' went to chat in the address bar and i had errors about the same language file and other errors in the ajax_im.js
If this was working and tested what version of ajaxim and joomla was it tested on, i used ajaxim 3.41
will be awaiting developers response...

when you use the component you do not need any other external tool, the device also contains ajaxim integrated.
installation and operation works for any version joomla 1.5
