uddeIM is available in 34 languages. It integrates seamless with Community Builder, Joomlaboard, AlphaUserPoints, Fireboard, Kunena, JomSocial, Joo!CM, Agora, and Ninjaboard.
uddeIM runs on Joomla 1.0, 1.5 native, 1.5 legacy, 1.6, 1.7, 2.5, 3.0, and 3.1.
The list of features is endless and includes features like:

Importing messages from most other PMS components is possible.

This is a well thought through and intelligently built piece of software made with the user in mind. After reading the README (yes, it helps!) the install was a bliss. And when I started it, it was everything I would expect it to be. In 15 minutes I tailored it to my perfect liking and sent a donation to the owner without any hesitation. It deserves every penny and more. I use it with integration with CB on a site for a closed community where people want to keep their profiles and communications private and brief. Great job!

Easy to customize, and I am not a expert coder.
Have all that you can need for user message services and also more.
I am using it in a ecommerce where single users can add and sell object and the site owner can manage and check any transation, UddeIM is perfect for enable communications between all the users!!

Advantages: large number of settings, integration with Community Builder, mass mailing, sending e-mail notifications of received messages
Disadvantages: not currently identified.

I used this extension in Joomla 1.5 and was excellent!
Now i'm trying to install it in Joomla 1.6 and i have a small problem.
Extension installs perfectly but the Administration menus cannot be created "Error cannot create Administration menu"
I'm sure that i installed the correct version of uddeim "com_uddeim_j16.zip" any help please?

Please do not use JED as a support forum. You will find the solution for you problem in the official support forum (first sticky):

You will get this error when you try to install the Joomla 1.0/1.5 package on Joomla 1.6 and better.
I just tried this extension today and i can say it's an excellent one.
Easy to install, much more features even i didn't try all of them they seem to be very useful especially if your website host a community

Enjoyed UddeIm for months now, however, how do you uninstall UddeImcomplete so you dont get this message " you have not updated your database" because I have no idea how to update datebase. Have searched readme and FAQ but I do not find anything that helps me.
Is there a way to completely uninstall UddeIm?

Its a great component for someone who just want to install, config and go.
Now... it has not been developed in the MVC framework. So when I tried to change how it looks... no views, no templates, no nothing. When can only change icons and CSS, nothing more.

uddeIm is simply great, what can I say more?
This tool has a lot of options and details that are revealing a great development work.
I have installed it with Kunena 1.6.4 and all has worked from the first shot.
There is also a super-datailed doc to solve installation problem if they (eventually) occurs.
I recommend it, no doubt.

This component is so easy to use and set up, and integrates very well, very sad for the tinkering mind, but very nice for us that just wants it to work.
A bit strange system with hotfix'es with manual copying, but it's managable.
All problems reported was solved quickly, and Slabbi is very respondent, and have created the docs that's needed (just a question of finding them), one drawback though is the lack of it's own forum, it piggybacks on JoomlaPolis.

The FAQ can be found in the README folder in uddeIM archive as mentioned in the description text above and as mentioned in the sticky in the uddeIM forum.
actually this component is excellent...i've used t on my site using joomla 1.5
But too bad...when i used this on joomla 1.6 it wont worked..
i try to install it 3 times on my joomla 1.6 sample site, but just found error and i can't link to my site. just after i installed this extension.
I just hope the developer will fixed the problem...

uddeIM 2.2 is not full Joomla 1.6 compatible (it requires a special installer which is describes in the README and I do not recommend to use uddeIM 2.2 on Joomla 1.6).
You can download uddeIM 2.3rc archive from my dev page which contains a separate package for Joomla 1.6.
This integrates perfectly with my Kunena forum, and supports Swedish without me having to make any changes. Very easy to configure, and a lot of smart add-ons included.
The only thing missing is the option of sending a PM to all members, but it still can be done. You just have to select them all manually. But it isn't really a problem in my opinion.

You can use "System/General Messages" to send messages to certain groups, e.g. all registered members.
