If you operate a community-based Joomla website, then you probably have some basic components: a user profile manager, a forum, and a private messaging system (PMS). SCRIBA is our first step into PMS’s, and we’ve started from the ground up. If you’ve ever used BaseCamp, then you’ll recognize the layout and identify with the beauty of its simplicity. But that’s where SCRIBA is deceiving.

* Each comment in the conversation displays the user's avatar from any of several sources

We built the Scriba component to serve multiple purposes. It is not only for your users to keep notes for themselves, but it is also terrific for encouraging private conversations between your users that are hosted on your sites (like Facebook emails!).
Additionally, with the use of plugins, you can make Scriba look and operate ANY WAY YOU WANT IT TO. The possibilities are endless here — its all up to your imagination!

It sounds nice and useful but the price for the required 'support' periods are outlandish for most non-corporate users.
As the rating just HAD to be filled out, I entered 'Average' but just ignore it.

I ended up viewing it after being really happy with another dioscouri product, and purchased Scriba based soley on the quality of their other products.
I was not dissapointed.
Scriba installs, configures and works first shot, like all extensions should.
It really is elegant, clean, and a wonderful addition to any community site. Way better than PMS systems... who needs more e-mail. This is more like a private conversation/chat/forum system.
I love it. My users can now have one on one or group private conversations with each other.
For developers, there is a plugin system that allows you to write extensions of the system.
dioscouri's support is top notch at every level.
I'm really happy with your products, and wish you had more of them that I needed.
