New at version >= 2.0.3:
Mootools Upgrade plugin must be enabled when using YaSB. Please update to J!1.5.23 version, a fix for Mootools Upgrade and Internet Explorer is included in this release.
This extension can be used to render a feature rich shoutbox in a module's possition on your website. It uses AJAX for sending and reciving shouts once the shoutbox is displayed.
YaSB comes along with smilies support, BBCode support, sound notifications and an advanced administration making ban and bad-words as well as IP bans possible.
Using a captcha (GD-Support required) YaSB can be made spam-protected.
YaSB can be configured easily using the backend administration part of the component.
For propper operation both, the component and the module, need to be installed.
The packages include English and German language for the frontend while administration (backend and help files) are English only.
It is way too simple for my tastes. I didn't immediately see a way to change the color of my text for example. If it can be done, it wasn't especially obvious. If it can only be done on the back-end, that wouldn't quite be sufficient.
It also seems to have major problems in IE 8. Seemed to work fine in FF 3.6.13. Haven't tested any other browsers.

I had tried previous versions of this and never really liked it. I just started a new project which required a shout box that I could place in the kunena_announcement section of the site. I tried several other shoutboxes and they either conflicted with kunena or just had way too many problems and way too little answers for them. So I came along and saw this and noticed that it is now a component and a module so I tired it. This is better than most paid services. You moderate from front and back and even pick at what level you want to have rights as moderator and not be forced to use only the special rights. I can tell this developer actually spent some time building this as it is a 100% improvement from all previous versions. Thanks for making a great shoutbox.
I tested all Shoutboxes out there, and this is defently the best one! Very very good support, eventhough it is free!
Nice shoutbox I have only one issue tho. There seems to be no way to adjust Height and Width for this mod. I had to uninstall because it just too high and too wide for my template. If you could add a feature for this, or point me in the direction of where to adjust the code for the height and width it would be appreciated.
