Teamlog is a strong beta entry into a much-needed category for Joomla. The component installs and runs smoothly and I encountered no technical problems.
Pros:
* Simple to install and use
* Provides front-end time entry
* The only Joomla-based project management tool with per-task time entry that I have seen so far
* Allows for usable project/task entry and breakdowns, todo-assignments, and time entry and reporting.
Cons:
* No HTML comments!!! All HTML formatting gets stripped from project descriptions, which makes it very difficult to use this as a general-purpose data field (which is bad, since it is really the only way of adding data to the project other than tasks).
* No front-end project creation/editing or reporting functions.
* Separate Todo and Task types? This might seem nitpicky at first, but Todos cannot be assigned to Projects, and Tasks cannot be assigned to users. This means that there is no way to create a task for a project and assign it to a user, without using a separate (and completely unrelated) todo.
* Unable to enter time for a Todo, only for tasks (see above). Combining todos and tasks into a single entity would both simplify the tool and make it more useful.
Other Thoughts:
* Teamlog would probably be a bit easier to run with if it came installed with some sample data, or at least had the option.
* Import/Export options would be a great addition
* I love the fact that I can create types for tasks. What about types for projects?
* Would love to see the ability to add contacts to a project.

i'm so frustrated after trying to get this thing up and running, i could scream. i am very experienced with joomla and have successfully installed probably over 100 components, plugins, templates, and modules over the last many years of web development, but i just had to write what a mean joke this is. i don't understand how anyone can be giving positive feedback. how the heck did you get it to work in a teamwork environment?
when i click on the projects menu on the front end, it immediately shows 3 duplicates of the front end. this was verified in the latest version of safari and firefox.
when you watch the video tutorial on their website, you can see that there is a module on the right side of the user area that has all the links to reports and other users, but without that, it's completely useless. when you download it, you get a component only, and no way to make it look like the video that i can find.
their stuff is gorgeous to look at, but has no support at all. there is no contact us link on their website, no forums, no wiki, and only a video showing everything working, but nothing about how to install and set it up.
i wish that the joomla extensions community would not allow people to post extensions that have no contact information on the website or links to websites that don't seem to have any information about the extension that is discussed here in the extensions area. completely bogus or vaporware extensions abound here

sorry that you have so much trouble using the Teamlog. This must be an individual issue on your server, because the Teamlog extension is working for almost all our users. We are using it by ourselves since we released it and it is working like a charm. You can send us an email to info@yootheme.com and describe our issue, maybe we can help. (BTW: the email address can be found on our website without any problems). We have a support forum for the Teamlog, but it is only accessible for YOOtheme members.

This is a simple, easy to use time logging system. I was looking for something without all the bells and whistles some components have - just wanted something to log my time on various projects. This fit the bill. Very intuitive and easy to figure out. 3 cheers!

I would recommend this extension only if it would have a proper frontEnd "Todos" and "Logs" Submission.
I could not find a documentation on their website; it does not come with a help file either.

The power of this component is in it's simplicity, Don't be deceived by the lack of buttons, this thing is great. Out of all project managements solutions this one is my favorite.
It only has 3 downsides that I can think of.
1) No support Forum, What you see is what you get basically.
2) Does not work well with SEF enabled
3) Can not export reports, However reports are detailed and pretty :)

This is a very nice component and does exactly as stated. I've used it for the past week now and it has already exploited the fact that I apparently have no concept of how long I waste on specific tasks. :( The reporting along with the statistics is a nice touch. I look forward to future releases.
The only downfall to this component is the inability to dynamically create projects/tasks/type on-the-fly. Each item has to be predetermined. So if you're running 10 projects all of which probably have the same type and similar tasks, you'll be stuck entering the same task for each project/type. That doesn't appear very user friendly. If you can deal with that little annoyance, it's worth the download. I've dealt with it. :)
If you're using any time of URL rewrite, you'll want to disable for this component as I had problems trying to submit a task.

This is one of those niche components about which I am quite excited. It has tremendous potential. I like what it does already. It installed easily, and works with both Firefox and IE 7 without so much as a hiccup. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the ability to get reports out of it without having to log in as an administrator. Other than that, great job!!!

I have been looking for that kind of extension for a while. Installed it with no problem. But then, suddenly, IE7 could not load my site any more. Had to uninstall.
I know it's a beta, but since there is no way give feedback or discuss bugs on the site, I have to state it here. too bad because I was really looking forward to it.

In fact, it was a long time I was looking for such a component, just to mamange my team over the web. Excellent beta, using it for now one month with 4 people in the team on more than more than 35 project. really easy for billing services without forgetting a minute of working ! Great ! Thans a lot.
Plus : A good reaction on the forum and allready 3 easy update on only 3 weeks ! Chapeaux bas ! :-)

I needed a very simple to use tool to track my time and projects. This does the job. It was easy to install and allows me to update my events as I am working on them. I thought I had a problem on the front-end, however a change to the global configuration (list should be more than 2O) solved everything.
