- This extension requires registration to download.
You can add a project, upload documents associated with the project, create project notes, and attach users to projects. Also displays crew deployments and calendars.
You can set authority levels to restrict viewing or editing projects or project logs by group membership. Logs and timestamps submissions so you can track who added notes/documents etc.
Can be modified to fit many project tracking purposes.
PHP < 5 may result in install errors!

This component is very easy to use and setup. Your website users should have no problem navigating the projects on the front-end. It is well laid out and easy to understand.
I had a problem with the time not displaying properly in the backend and the developer responded with a solution (the code is posted in their support forum if you need it).
I made some changes and customizations to it which were pretty easy to do.
If you are looking for any kind of project management tool for your website, this is the one to use.
In regards to the other post stating that there is no documentation: There is a walk-through on their website and they have a forum section dedicated to this product - those resources should answer any question you may have. Although, it is fairly easy to figure out just by playing around with it for a few minutes!

Thank you for this excellent extension. I had it installed in very little time, and though I ran into an issue with a combination of SEO Settings, I was able to get the solution quickly and painlessly on the forum. I was directed to a thread with the exact information I needed.
(One thing that needs mentioning; the SEO fix requires manual editing of the php. Don't let this stop you from trying Project Log, it's a simple fix and the instruction are laid out plainly.)
I'd recommend this extension to anyone needing these features.

I downloaded, configured and set up a sample project in less than 15 minutes. Good.
I've worked in Project Management and apply the principles to all my websites for new clients. I hand coded a lot of stuff including timesheets where a client can login and review work completed on their particular project.

You can't go past this app it does everything you need.
It will work for any business and it secure. Best of all, its easy to understand and you wont have a challenging time teaching your staff / sub contractors.

This is such an excellent extension, just installed and it works as desired. Intuitive operation and very usefull options.
Im doing myself a translation to brazilian portuguese.. I will send after it's done in case developers think it's nice to add in the project page.
My suggestion for now: Different projects could share same uploaded files (uploaded from different people from same organization e.g.) but system wont accept same files among projects. I think it's great if each project can have it's own files directory.

I can now create a new project with all the associated documentation in one place for the client or anyone else respobsible to download.
I will have to duplicate the logs in my own DB for timekeeping purposes but if that was to be added to this project component it would be excellent.
All in all a big thumbs up, a great time saver and provides the client with complete visibility...!

Hi - thanks for the review! You might want to post this question in our support or feature requests forums. We have many customers who have done code modifications that may be willing to share.
This may be the greatest extenion ever but it has NO documentation and the online Demo has never worked. I have no idea what the extension will do and won't do and am not going to waste my time with trial and error.

This is an amazing application and perfect for any business that wants to keep track of their projects. I used it for a contractor's site and he is thrilled.

I use it to run a very busy website design firm managing projects - with up to 10 designers, with as many as 20 projects a month - I have a few suggestions for development - please let me know if this is acceptable and who I can email this too.. are further versions been developed ?

There are a few features I would add but it's a definite solution to many needs.
I believe this will develop to be an awesome component unlike any other one.
I submitted an issue to forum and got an instant response from admin (less than 30 minutes). Almost invaluable in itself for a free app!

First of all, fantastic job! I needed to present a plan room style website to a client in a day and this was the extension I chose. I am extremely glad I did because of the ease of installation, set up and modification.
I have made changes to the source files to meet my client's needs, but for most applications, no changes would be required. The changes have been fairly easy to make, but I could have done with a bit more commenting in the script.

First of all, this program is very easy to use. You don’t need any special skills to install and to use it. I started out with some other respectable component which appears too difficult for our team lazy-members. They don’t like to learn hard and even think, I suppose. Somebody have to think instead of them. So if you have the same problem and you're permanently tired of explaining the project-tracker usage – Thinkery’s ProjectLog is solution. Very simple user-friendly interface and NO unnecessary features, actually you don’t need. I was really impressed and have translated this component for my Russian site, already . It was very easy because of language files included, plain clean code with intuitive comments and thanks to quick support on the forum. And the last but not least – it’s free… Try for yourself.
