AL Ratings component is the easiest and fasted way to let your site's visitors vote/rate for their favorite Joomla! 1.5 and Joomla! 1.6/1.7 content items with a cool ajax rating bar.

Features included:

Set the number stars you want to display on your site(Up to 10 stars rating bar).
Display one or more Rating bars.
Set the vote description text.
Set rating access level (Everyone/Only registered users).
Set rating interval for registered users (1hour, ...,12 hours, 24 hours).
Delete ratings in the backend.
Enable/Disable ratings in the backend.

AL Ratings module included:

Display Top Rated Items or Top Voted items.
Filter rated content articles by Category.

Stay Away, It Doesn't Work As Advertised

The guys website and post reads it works everywhere on your Joomla site with content, just add the code to your Joomla installation. Well it doesn't It works on articles as do hundreds of free Joomla programs but it will not work with components even when the components call article data. This is blocked by the author doing a check in the code instead of just letting it work.

Upon asking for a refund I was told they don't refund for "oops I made a mistake." Then a later email stated they mention it does not work with 3rd party content extension. I am not using a content extension. I will say this guys response time was fast but still not worth buying this program.

I don't know where you read that AL Ratings could work with all third-party Joomla components using content triggers, this is not a feature mentioned in the product description here or my site, so your negative review is not true. The AL Ratings is a JOOMLA CONTENT ARTICLES RATING extension as described in product information and is not an extension that you can use to rate all the Joomla components in the world using content triggers, That would be impossible to achieve because there are thousands of Joomla extensions that are available and new ones coming out everyday, so i do not block any component as you mentioned. The AL Ratings extensions is designed to rate Joomla content articles.

Finally, there are many users using this component without any problem to rate all their Joomla content articles on their sites and they are happy with the component. The product information and documentation is clear about how to use the AL Ratings component and is available online at any time, there is also a demo site to check working examples.

This is one of those little gem extensions that once used you cant live without. Can be used in every kind of website, eshop, community, newsportal etc.

this mod has done everything i have asked it to and more. i am using it for a game ratings site, hundreds of items being rated and it is running flawless.

Support has been above and beyond. Response within minutes after submitting a ticket on the website. Developer was friendly and willing to help me come with creative ways to implement the script.
