You can define multiple rating criteria and these can vary across categories. For example, if you are rating movies, restaurants and wine, you will want to have different rating criteria for each. If you need more power, like listing submissions, custom fields and editor reviews, then you should look at JReviews which offers this and much more.
Integrates with Community Builder, JomSocial and Kunena. It includes MyListings, MyReviews and MyFavorites plugins for JomSocial and CB, and comes with listings, reviews and favorites modules which let you present the rated listings and reviews in many different ways.
Reviews and helpful votes can be automatically posted to the user's Facebook wall and his friends' streams, allowing you to quickly spread the word about your site and create organic traffic. New reviews can also be automatically tweeted to your site's Twitter account.
The frontend user interface is translated to more than 20 languages.
Update June 20, 2011 - JReviews Express 2.3 was released with Joomla 1.6 compatibility and tons of new features like listing submissions, simple search, multiple directories, listing claims and inquiries, favorites and featured listings.

I currently own three licences for different websites and I have NEVER been disappointed with the product - my latest project being a review site called eBizToolkit for small business services.
It is by far one of the most professional, powerful and customizable extensions I have found for Joomla. The support I have received from Alejandro and the team should be used as a benchmark by other companies - responses are clear and concise and always within a few hours at most regardless of the question.
If you are planning a website involving customer reviews, you really need not look further - this is the extension you need for your website!

I use the full JReviews product. The support staff is fantastic and fast. I would highly recommend anything from these guys.
Absolutely amazing product, well worth the money. However it is the support that I have received that made me register my account on JED and submit this review. We have used all kinds of products on our websites, paid or free, I have never, never received support as professional and prompt as from Jreviews Support team. They basically helped me through the whole thing and I am extremely happy to purchase the product.
Every side of the Jreviews, from the extension itself to the people who developed it, shows you professionalism.

I have a feeling I will think this 4-star rating should have been a 5-star rating, but I haven't used the product long enough to give it the highest rating. Support, however, has been excellent. If I could rate support alone, that would be 5-stars for sure. I had a little trouble getting started...mostly due to my beginner status...but support was there. Not just once, but repeatedly until my issues were ironed out.
The product itself is very good so far also. But I take a 5-star rating very seriously, I simply haven't used it enough yet to award 5 stars.

Actually this is my first ever review of any extension, I had to register on JED to review this great extension.
I have put "Excellent Support" as the review title followed by great product, as i believe there are many great extensions on JED, but i believe very few would come close to the support levels provided by team Jreviews (Specially Kristian & Alejandro).
As with any extensions, there would be compatibility issues, which are not global in nature, but are individual site specific. So in my opinion support counts more than the product itself, and this is where Jreviewsexpress Excels.
I would highly recommend this product, its worth every penny, possibly more.

I very rarely pay for extensions for Joomla, I prefer to use free ones where possible and I often find that some paid extensions let you down with poor compatibility and poor support. Luckily, JReview Express is the opposite, it works with everything I've tried so far and the support is lightening fast.
I wanted JReviews, but I couldn't justify the expense. I had a look at the Express version which was just within my budget and it does just about everything I want anyway.
I had the extension installed in minutes and it immediately looked at home on my theme without any messing about. The feel was very professional and it looked like it was part of the site, not something hastily stuck on.
I had a problem where my Artisteer created theme was causing a slight problem with it, but that was down to old standards being used by Artisteer (as usual). Even so, JReview support logged in to my site and found a fix for me within 20 minutes of me logging the support request!!
Ridiculously good value for money and I heavily recommend this plugin. The people behind it are helpful, it's well documented and it does what it says on the tin.

Usually I am not a person that write reviews on products or services. For this component I make an exception. Alejandro and his team delivered an outstanding job by creating this piece of code.

Alejandro and his team are great! I bought this product in 2006 and my site has been running since without issues. The quality and support back then was great.
I moved my site from 1.18 to 1.7 and had to migrate all of my data including all jreviews stuff. I had the opportunity to review the database schema. It was easy enough (for a developer) to do.

I have installed the trial version of this commercial component. As far as I can see there is no multi-language support for it.
In the config options is a field "enable joomFish", but joomFish for 1.6 is curently not available. I think it would be better to add a language selection for the various review criteria, like for all other content elements in 1.6.

I purchased this extensions with it's two addons (geomapping and paid listings). I am very very happy with it.
First off it was easy to install. Since I already had Ioncube setup on my server it installed without any hang ups.
Easily connects with Jomsocial and everything synchs up perfectly.
The addons are great. The geomaping takes the system to the next level providing an easy method of searching for locations and maps that look amazing.
The paid listings addon is easy to work with and offers unlimited possibilities for subscription options.
Support has been great and very quick to respond to any questions.

Thank you for your feedback. This review is for our full version product JReviews and not JReviews Express which is the product listed here which is GPL and does not require the use of ionCube loaders . Moderators feel free to remove it.
I am extremely non-computer literate. In fact, I stumbled every step of the way when setting up my first website. However, once I eventually got on my feet and started using jReviews, I was really impressed. It is a huge part of my site and Alejandro and Kristian have helped me beyond belief. The support is first class and the program is outstanding. Anybody looking to use a review software, especially as a beginner, I highly recommend using jReviews.

The extension itself is very good but the support for the product is limited. It has great functionality and scaleability. If you need support after the "support" period has ended you are pretty much on your owne. I purchased the product about a year ago and tried to move it to a new site but support basically said that it was no longer a supported version and they could not assist. I don't understand the point of having an unlimited license then discontinuing support. I would recomend the product hoping that you don't have techincal issues. I now have to buy it again because they don't support the version I have.

I would like to include my full reply in our ticket system to this reviewer to make everything transparent:
"I managed to fix the db error in the admin side, which showed up when debug mode was enabled in Joomla, but I can't get anything to show up in the front-end. The problem is that this version of Express is over two years old and support for it was dropped a while back so I really can't spend more time trying to figure out what's wrong. This version was also never tested with the version of Joomla 1.5 you have now, but only older versions."
This really is the only way to describe this software it does everything you hope it will ... and then some more.
My client wanted bells and whistles and that's what I've been able to give them with this.
Let me not forget to tell you about the support ... if you post in the forum you get an answer (often overlooked by others) and if you post a ticket you get the support you need and thorough information.
All round the best money I've spent, can't recommend them highly enough.

I really have to say that I did not see better CCK Joomla! component (I think it can be clasified as CCK) - I tried them all.
With this component you can do whatever comes to your mind - of course if you know other Joomla! components and know how to adjust them to specific needs. This component is worth every dollar.... I recommend it to all users that wish to make any kind of review system or directory and even distribution of news and articles directory..

Regular updates are available to make it a future proof investment.
As a newbie, it's nice to rely on such a winning combination.

Well created and developed component with endless capabilities. I can use it for reviews or as a simple comprehensive CCK! I wonder if the developer missed anything in making this outstanding component. Even the video tutorials are well thought of and shows all what is needed from A to Z! Loved it from the first day and worth every penny!

I can't possibly say enough good things about the JReviews team, in particular Alejandro. I have a very limited knowledge of scripts and php...but that didn't stop me when I decided to use their software, which I have been using for almost a year. I recently had an issue and Alejandro helped me through the entire process, start to finish. He was really good about everything, even though I didn't understand what to do or how to do it. In the end he fixed all my problems and some SEO problems I didn't even know I had for TWO websites.
The software is really easy to use once you get it all straight...the installation is easy and would probably be much easier for people who knew more, but if I could get it on then anyone can. I highly recommend this program. I personally use it to review businesses and services in cities.
