Easy to install, simple and usefull
The plugin is so easy to install
Is a very elegant and look serious (not "Fanny whit all those emoticons")
it can start working in about 2 minuts.
Is really a great option
Thats really bad.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have integration with Community Builder avatars, which for me is a must since I'm upgrading my sites from 1.5 and for those I used another comments system (which hasn't been updated for 1.6 yet!)which had integration with CB avatars, so it's a feature I would really love to have.
I wouldn't mind paying for the CB avatar integration. Actually, I wouldn't really mind paying for this extension at all, it's so amazing it's worth it.
The layout is clean, and the extension seems to be lightweight enough to not add much strain to my server when it's put under load.
Great job, devs!
Would like to see the ratings as the standard thumb up and thumb down. And not just show up as hover link. Or make it a configurable option.
The perfect blend of functionality and useability, without over complicating the tool.
This was about the 8th Comment extension I tried and it's awesome!
It's FREE and contains no hidden back-links.
We need more Joomla! developers such as the people/person who created this extension. Thanks.
At time when i write this review, sliComments is just starting so there are fiew options missing. (For example - it does not show Kunena avatars yet while it allready use Kunena profile names)
Because i see author is very active in updating this extension and it allready show great potential - I believe, soon it may be one of best comment extensions for joomla 1.7 and up.
Recommended and very promising extension.
(While this extension is really good, i not give 5 stars only because theres fiew options missing. Ill give 5 or even 10 stars if these options will be updated in future (Kunena avatars and notification for user that his comment needs to be approved to show in front page))
I was able though to input a javascript alert into the text area and obtain a list of all the cookies.
I did not go any further with the testing, but this area needs some work.
sliComments has an option to allow HTML in the comments (which comes deactivated by default), but there are HTML filtering options, the same way the "Articles manager" have.
So you can set the "Allow html" to "No" or tweak the "HTML Filters" option to best suit you site needs, the tooltips in the options screen will give you detailed info on how to properly configure this.
I tried several other free comment extensions prior to this and they where either not working out of the box or just too overloaded.
I wanted a simple comment box under my articles where registered users could just enter short comments.
It works perfectly. Comments by registered users can be autoapproved, so you don't have to worry about anything.
And I asked for the implementation of a (comments 2) link below posts in the mainpage blog view on github and the author providded the necessary changes within ours. That was totally unexpected. Thanks again!
Overall I can wholeheartedly recommend this extension!
