I added jcomment too our site. We used to have yvcomment which worked fine, but this one is 300% better. More functionality and more interactive. Next too the easy installation and easy use, the suppport is even better. I added a question about importing comments.... after a couple of mails all was solved.

This is such a great component and I'm very happy with its performance in other browsers. But my problem is with Internet Explorer. Whenever a viewer post a comment in my article, IE can no longer publish. I get the error message "cannot connect to the database." Can you resolve that? I don't want to change component anymore as i might lose the comments already posted. Thanks!

This extension is very useful and is working!
I was unable to get it working at first as the template was created with Artisteer...
Make sure you add a line of code in the template you are working with...
article->event->afterDisplayContent; ?>
in file /templates/templatename/html/com_content/article/default.php

JComments is a good extension though it has some minor css problems in IE8 - I am not sure if the problem lies within the template or not but I have tried three from rocket theme and the problem remained.
The captcha images with the letters are to difficult to read and I have not found any tutorial how to for example force it to have only number or capital letters. Maybe someone knows where to find this.

You can change the character set used in the CAPTCHA in the configuration file (/components/com_jcomments/libraries/kcaptcha/kcaptcha_config.php). But it will reduce the resistance of CAPTCHA image to OCR.
I don't want to turn this into a "support" thread, but I just felt I needed to respond to the comment that this extension "does not work with IE8". I tested it and from my system it is working fine.
My evaluation is this is a really NICE extension.
I have a template that is white on back with some colored highlights for some tags. I had to go and manually modify the components default css the "kapatcha" config.php and use my image editor to create some new corner images. Some users might find this a bit harder to do then others.
I wouldn't want to see development take away from the beautiful simplicity of this extension, so maybe some other layouts besides the default would be helpful?
