I pretty much tried all of the free (and many paid) form extensions and this is the only one that's got it all together. Some of the other extensions either look good, but function precariously, or function well but look 1997.

This one looks great (and is easily re-styled/skinned)and functions brilliantly.
It's got everything you need: captcha, all common field types, file uploads, post-submission confirmation, submission db storage, email forwards, and a ton of other features.

AND it's completely free. Furthermore it does not force you to backlink unlike some of the other extensions here. Backlinking is completely optional, and can be toggled within admin options. So you won't get a massive, out of context ad at the bottom of your form.

Ck Forms are easy to install and setup. :D

The BUT:
There are one problem that are not good at all, if you have IE 6 the form validation doesn´t work, you can send empty emails. But in IE7 and firefox it works great..

I am very happy with this product although i can;t find a support forum for it??

It emails nicely which the last review had issues with.

My problem is when you enter the "display data" area it hasn't uploaded the info.

I tried several of the different Form solutions for Joomla, but they were all overly complicated and had issues with SEF (search engine friendly URL's) I use sh404SEF and it was having trouble with the other form programs. Here's what I like about it.

It's very simple and straightforward, can't get any simpler.

You can make a menu link directly to a form, there is NO easy way to do this on a ton of the other form solutions.

Looks nice.

Bad:

Seems to have trouble emailing me the form results, I'm working on it now. But otherwise it stores the database info fine.

A very straightforward and solid solution.

First the good things.
Easy install, easy setup.
After creating a form just link it.
The best part is setting up the fields. Does not get any simpler.(i really dont understand who came up with the "form designer" idea which in other extensions, That is scary)
This is where the good part stops.
The select field is buggy. I added a field and then deleted it. After that it refuses to add anything. I just skipped a select field in the end.
The first time I installed it, it refused to send an email, but strangely started working after a few tries.
But still does not send email to cc(in email settings).
The form displayed properly on one site but the inputbox was giving a 100% width(which I corrected css)
On the second site. The input box was giving a proper width(that is the default) but the Tip icon was overlapping it.
I just could not figure out why. So this is where I am going to stop using CK forms.
I am also going to remove it from the other site I have installed. Just cannot trust this one.
I am sure if the bugs are cleared out and you can easly add select box or a select pull down menu.(with javascript validation and reCAPTCHA support).
Add the ability to copy paste html code(design the form in dreamweaver and paste the code) and this could be the "chosen" extension for joomla.
no support site/forum.

Nice component and simple to use. Unfortunately not again enough mature for my need because some point are missing: No javascript check about validity of email (correct syntax like mail@domain.com instead mail@domain) and for number (e.g ZIP code or phone number). Captcha sometime don't work correctly I don't know why...If I put correct displayed code I get error in a next page telling "Sorry, the code you entered is invalid." with a back link...If I click on that link I come back to form and loose all data...always boring when you have fill a big form and must re-fill again. Sometime Captcha are not readable and a little "refresh button" near to the code can be cool for get another image code. Except all this points this component are great and can be used maybe internaly of the site (registred users) like that you can disable captcha code. Hope in next release all this points will be solved...

This component certainly stands out for its ease of use and wealth of features.
However, the fact that the output is based on a restrictive table based layout, makes styling it a complete nightmare.

This was the perfect solution to my client's site, and with the help of comments posted here it was up and running in minutes! (Definitely need to rename the database tables as posted here, and be careful to name your field values with no blank spaces). Emails are delivered with all data intact and the page lays out beautifully!

I am not seeing the online data, but don't need it anyway. This is a great component and my #1 choice for Joomla forms.

I work all day every day with Joomla!, and still I don't really write reviews. Until now. I've used a bunch of forms components over the years, and in the last couple of days have worked with ChronoForms and JoomlaForms. I installed CK Forms, and within an hour had everything working just so. The things that stand out about this one for me are:

a) Simple Interface that uses the standard Joomla! approach to the backend (that's a good thing - users don't want to learn new GUIs for every component)
b) MVC compliant structure. If you know something about developing components, this is a big plus because you can easily modify the component to your needs without spending hours trying to get inside the developer's head
c) CSS is easy to modify. You can do it through the backend, or grab the CSS file over ftp. The structuring of classes and IDs on the form objects is logical and extensive, so you can exercise a tight level of control on display without a bunch of work!

Well Done to the Developers.

Component installed quickly and cleanly. Followed others' advise to rename databases. Was able to quickly create a form and some fields, and email it upon submittal. Could use some more options to control display and email output more, but all in all its simple and works as described.

This is a good extension. It has a few quirks to it, though. For instance, you must rename the database tables, as described in other reviews. It also isn't valid XHTML.

The problem I initially had with it was that an email was not getting sent out when someone submitted the form, even though I specified that one should be sent. After looking at the code, I realized that "save result" had to be turned on first. After turning that on, everything worked flawlessly.

It takes some time to get everything figured out, but after that, it is a very usable extension. Good job!

Having tried most of the major non-commercial "Forms" extensions (ChronoForms, FacileForms, and BreezingForms), I can honestly say that CK Forms is the easiest to use... although it requires a little bit of patience. The install went perfect, although I was forced to rename two tables in lower case letters (see previous reviewer's tip). For those not familiar with how to do this, log into phpMyAdmin and select your Joomla database. Then click on the "SQL" tab at the top of the page and enter the following:

RENAME TABLE jos_CKFORMS TO jos_ckforms
RENAME TABLE jos_CKFIELDS TO jos_ckfields

In addition, to this little tweak, I was also unable to switch between the tabs in the extension and then Save it. The only solution that I found was to use Internet Explorer when creating forms, opposed to Firefox. Regardless, it worked! I was able to create a great looking form with all the necessary fields including dropdown boxes, mandatory (required) text fields, captcha, etc.

There is not much support for this extension, although if you are looking for a quick way to generate forms for your website, then this is a great option that requires beginner to low-intermediate expertise.

Just installed on 1.5.3 and other then a small fix I had to find in a forum, works flawlessly! It is by far the most simple and straight forward component for adding forms to your site, and I have tried all the free options available!

Quick hint: When you install, check your database and change the two tables named CKFIELDS and CKFORMS to lower case letters or else you get an error when you try to save your forms.

Good components with no problem during the installation. It's very easy to use and set in my Joomla installation. The coomponent needs some fixes and new features but it's the first release. I'm waiting for the next releases.
