I didn't even complete the task of creating a form in the demo site. Immediately I could tell that this is a quality extension and therefore purchased it. I have used Breezing Forms previously and although it's also a good extension this is years ahead. The options are outstanding and everything has been thought of for a submittance form. I could go on and on, the best compliment I can think of is that if the Joomla Package included a forms extension then this would be it.

In the past i had used an older extention by Phil. Now I needed an extention enabling me to make custom forms in J 2.5. For me a small learning curve, as there a many features and settings. After my two initial forms i was happy with the result. Contacted Phil for support of a css issue and his feed back was excellent. Happy client.

I use this extension to create forms for bookings on a site that I created for a local charity. It's so easy to install and use, with a nice, fast loading Ajax interface. Form creation is quick and easy, using an intuitive interface - if you need a form creation component, this is it - don't bother looking anywhere else. Support is second to none - I had a problem with configuring SSL (so that I could use the forms for collecting sensitive personal information), so I visited the developer's site and he happened to be on live chat. I gave him my Joomla backend login and FTP credentials and he went to work, having the problem fixed in a very short time. Phil (the developer) has a friendly attitude and a very professional work ethic. Best of all, he didn't even charge for the work. I've been using Joomla for a couple of years now and have excellent experience of it, especially in the creation of forms and this component is the best by far. Thank you, Phil and keep up the good work!

Getting service from some people is a real pain, with Phil it was immediate and although it was a silly problem on my side, it was resolved quickly and professionally.
Purely from that point of view I give it the best possible rating and the ease of working with the product is the best feature of all.

I purchased bfFroms more than 3 years ago and had no problems with installation and setup, I use more than 400 forms on my site. I did use other form components but found them to be very spammy. All my forms are in modules and looks really great. We know not all Joomla extensions work well together so I always have some or other error popping up, I contacted support about a javascript error and within 20min I got feedback with a solution and fbForms was not the problem. Over the years I've had a few miner problems that was sorted within hours. I really have to say Thank you Phil for creating such a powerful component and for the great after sales support.

As a teacher/coach, I needed a simple way to gather student info. for a school team. This is an extremely easy to use system for any such basic data gathering.

I have used BlueFlameForms for some years on various Joomla sites.
I use it for normal contact forms and for order forms. Anything where people do not need to register to submit something to me, and I never got any spam through the BFF.
It is quite easy to set up (I'm not a programmer), and Phil has been very helpful and sometimes even done on-site-editing to make the form work, when I was a newbie in Joomla!
The forms are very neat and flexible in function.
If all extentions were as excellent as this, the whole world would use Joomla :-)

I purchased this, it installed correctly in 2.5. Relatively new to using forms, I first wanted to use this for a complicated form with fields side by side. Not sure if that can be done with this. Later on I have used it for a simple quote request form. My container box is 900px and the labels are configured to take up 50% of the width of their container. I hunted for a CSS file and eventually found one called default.css in which I was able to adjust the label width to 30%. Now it looks quite fine. I would use this for vertical format forms, it seems good for that.

over the years I've had a few custom requests and BFhas always come back with accurate and simple to the point advice!
No long mail trails, simple Question and answer!

I usually never bother to write reviews unless i am really pi**** excuse me "upset" or greatly surprised,
Happily in this case its the latter.

First let me go over some points

1] Having Joomla sites at all revisions, it is fantastic that Phil gives you two versions that fit 1.5 to 2.5.

2] As a system developer for 15 years, it is quickly evident that this application has been very well thought out.
It has many things that will appeal to both beginners and advance developers.

Just two Examples of many:
the beginner will appreciate the step by step driven form creation process that makes it intuitive to create the forms.
The advance developer will appreciate being able to execute your own php code as an action response to the submittal of the form.
Another example,
beginner: the pre-existing pre-filled dropdowns (Like the 50 states) or date picker existing field
developer: the ability to type any html he/she wants in the html field, and the hidden field options that he/she can populate later.

Lets talk customer service, when I installed the application in a localhost joomla site running in WAMP, the tables were not being created. so I contacted Phil, this was saturday, within hours he got back to me (Keep in mind America to Europe), although i searched google and discoverd that the reason was my joomla redirect plugin had "gone off the reservation". Something that had nothing to do with this application and Phil had never seen. Within days (Saturday - Monday) I racked up 5 emails back and forth with phil trouble shooting help.
by the way when I installed it in my real server, had no issues, so i don't want you to think the app was at fault.

The only suggested improvement i have is beefing up the documentation, maybe the little documentation is because the application is very intuitive and does not need much combined with phil being busy solving problems and enhancing the application and has little time for documentation.... but again thats just me surmissing.

Overall excellent app and am greatly happy with it. Highly recommend it.

I purchased this extension as I was looking for a simple contact form that suited my site.
After installing I had some trouble configuring this for what I needed, and also I found another extension which was plain and simple and just what I needed. Emailed to question about refund since this was quite expensive for something I'll never be using, I'm thinking now jesus will call me back sooner. They just took the money and never answered

Module never worked, installed it and when i tried to use it it just never stops loading.
Contacted support who infomed me that they could log in to my back-end and look at the issue, but if they discovered that the module was working they would charge me a minumum of 50£ for the working hours.
i then asked them if the issue wasn't with the module to inform me first, as i didn't want to pay an additional 50£.

i never heard from them again.

Worked right out of the box except for some permission issues I needed to contend with which is not uncommon with some installs and hosts. What was VERY nice was the install let me know what those permission issues were so I could fix. That is not so common with extensions so hats off to the developer. I did need to contact the developer about one item which did not hold me up from using right away (I had a customer meeting the next morning). The response was within 24 hours. Form builder is surprisingly robust yet extremely easy to use and user friendly. Whether you are a novice or experienced I think you will find this extension great. There are some higher end capabilities and there is a really great rule handler for your forms (send to mail, DB, redirect,...). This in particular was a very nice surprise along with all the form field options. Highly recommended especially for the price.

This is the first extension I have paid for and it has put me off paying for any more. I had problems with my install, found no documentation to help solve it. I asked for help from the developer and was replied to relatively quickly but he was rude simply because I did not want to grant him access to my site (is this a normal request?) When I finally got it sorted, I had another small glitch. Ultimately though when up and running it is an excellent extension and easy to use. Needs better documentation and service for paid extension.

Quite disappointed actually, I thought this extension would be a lot more intuitive than it is, as someone who is fairly new to Joomla I was expecting to be able to get to grips with it and produce what I wanted fairly easily, however this was not the case.
Making a simple two column form is dead easy but anything more than that I found was a lot of trial and error and very frustrating whilst trying to get the various elements to interact.
Coupled with this, the current lack of any documentation (there's been a 404 error on it for ages now) and no access to the support forums (where on earth are they? I cant seem to find them anywhere). I keep coming across a support form to fill in which apparently goes directly to Phil Taylor but thus far after three days I haven't had a reply to what is probably a simple query.
I'm pretty sure with the support and documentation, (this is a commercial extension) it would be a lot easier to get to grips with, but until I get those two fundamental requirements I cant recommend it or score it any more.

For years I have hated creating forms. The tedium of manually creating and troubleshooting them was more than I wanted to deal with. I tried several other (more expensive) forms components and they worked, but were not really easy to use. A week or so ago I bought BF Forms, and I am just bowled over. So easy to use, and to customize. The forms come out great, you can store responses in the database and see the results, and you can easily customize the response that comes to you. BlueFlame Forms is simply the best extension I have ever used for forms. No more dreading it when clients need a form. Thanks, Phil, for another great extension and outstanding support.

The thing with these form extensions (and I've tried a few) is the ease of use. I only want something simple and Blue Flame nails it.
I tried a few free ones and was disappointed: They either didn't do the job or they mysteriously malfunctioned or they required a post-grad in IT to make them work at all.
This one is as powerful as you want it to be - has heaps of scope. Its the basics that make it so usable: The interface is so simple and logical to configure and you just build on top of that - solid logical basics.
I don't really give a rat's backside about a few milliseconds here and there, and although others have mentioned it, I haven't found any noticeable lag (I sometimes think people who notice this stuff go looking for it and are akin to those record-freaks who insist digital recordings don't have the same quality as pressed-vinyl and they can hear the difference - yeah right - whatever.
This extension is not free but its close enough and for the price it is a great investment in saved time and frustration.
Buy it - its cheap - it works - it can be as complicated as you want it to be or as easy.

The 1.5 version works great and I cannot fault it. :)

I feel the 2.5 version may have been released prematurely as the Access permissions for each form or form field do not work yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this issue will be addressed some time in the near future. :(

Really flexible and easy to use. you can customise it as you like it can also be use as a newslettes subscriction form or a contact form or as a reservation form or whatever you like. Thx phil really good job. you actually saved me a lot of time and money:)

I purchased a server licence back in 2009 for the 1.5 version, and now I just logged in to see if I can get 2.5 credits to you yes it was available as part of the downloads I actually was expecting to pay for the new version.
