Having used a few Joomla forms components over the years and returning back to bfFroms once again I'm pretty certain no competing extension comes close.

I am fairly new to Joomla and I was looking for a way to create forms for my website. I looked at a couple of free extensions but neither of them had the power that I needed. I tried out the demo of Blue Flame Forms and was immediately impressed with how simple yet powerful this extension was.

I have only created 3 forms for my site but all three were easy to create and do exactly what I need them to do.

I had one issue with the forms and I asked for Phil's help but it turned out to be a simple CSS mistake on my part. Phil responded to my request for help quickly.

Thank you for this great product and please keep up the good work. I will be using this extension for a long time to come.

After trying six other free form-building extensions and having no luck creating what I wanted to see, I purchased Blue Flame Forms. It is such a small price for such a wonderful component! What a time-saver compared to the others! And it is much more intuitive, easy to configure (installation and configuration is a bit different from usual so read the doc) and the created forms are beautiful. Please note that you have to upgrade to J1.5.15 if you're using an earlier version of Joomla. Tip: Do the update first - I used the free extension Joomla Update Manager - and configure the update manager parameters to Default 1.5 Extractor. Then everything will be ultra-smooth. I wish I'd bought Blue Flame Forms a long time ago! Excellent, excellent extension!

Actually had a little problem at the onset and emailed Phil Taylor for support. He responded quickly and told me it was a problem with a missing PHP module (iconv) that performed the validation. It wasn't installed on my server but requested Hosting Provider to install and now works like a charm. Very easy to use and extremely flexible and hard working form. If you're in the USA buy it now as the EURO is low.

This is an awesome extension and I can only recommend it! I had a little trouble with setting it up, so I wrote Phil an e-mail. Under 15 minutes later, the problem was solved - now that's customer service!

So the question is, it is worth the money? I can only say - absolutely!

So if you need to make some custom forms, but don't have the programming knowledge, I recommend this extension.

I really like this component. It has a solid, intuitive look and feel. Lots of options and build in security procedures. You get a nice and safe feeling when working with this component.
Further more, the support is excellent. Whenever i had a question or something was'nt working (cause of some provider settings) I got support and solution within 12 hours time.
Five thumbs up for BFForms

After making several forms, and getting help from Phil to handle problems which were clearly mine, I am another ardent fan of this tool and Blue Flame. So much so that I bought another program, even though I don't need it.

I find it hard to believe that people might be complaining about the same software and company that I used. I got support minutes after I sent an email explaining my problem (a permissions problem wasn't letting the software load properly)...after midnight! And he keeps adding new cool functions. So, very highly recommended indeed.

I have put together a new Joomla site and decided that since it has been over 2 years since I last looked at forms on Joomla that it was time for a bit of a review.

So, I downloaded and paid where necessary (spent over £100.00)for all the forms rated as 'good'. I tested and tried them all. Some clearly had been designed for boffins for boffins; one I recall did not even have a 'create new form' dialogue but was still rated as 'good' by its supporters!

Anyway, as far as I am concerned Phil Taylor's Blue Flame Joomla Forms won hands down, easy to create a new form and the options are amazing! The best for me is the ability to control emails and the content that can be sent to different email addresses, something quite important as we need data entry into a Joomla form from our surveyors all around the UK that then send emails to the customer, accounts and sales, each requiring different sets of the data. Phil Taylor's forms handles that easily and beautifully. Either this cannot be done or it is not obvious in any of the other forms I reviewed.

I also liked the configurable spam controls and nice touches like the dummy spam field to catch out bots.

All in all, very easy to use, intuitive and quick with absolutely no need to get dirty with code. 10/10 and the pick of all forms on Joomla.

Now for the bad bit. I did have a problem when the form did not work but also not down to Phil.

The form did not work initially becuase I had stuck something in the .htaccess file it did not like, in case you mee it here it is:

# Remove index.php from root URL
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /index\.(php|html) [NC]
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ http://www.redsolar.co.uk/ [R=301,L]

You need to comment out or delete those lines if have them in .htaccess I think it also caused a few of the other forms not to work either.

Lastly, when I was working late (early!) Phil Taylor responded within minutes by email at 3.00 am in the morning! And further responded in a matter of hours during a normal working day! I guess Phil does not sleep much! I have had not any trouble with support despite comments here suggesting otherwise.

10 out 10 and now installed and working on my new Joomla site (I have 10 or so others).

bfForms is a great form component and by far my favourite to work with. The interface is good and it is incredibly easy to get a simple form up and running quickly. The great part is that if you want to dig deeper and get your hands dirty there's an immense amount of power to be had with these forms. I LOVE the IxEdit integration - just awesome! Add the great features to the responsive support (I lodged an enquiry about a feature yesterday and received a personal response from Phil just over an hour later) and lifetime updates and you'll find it hard to find a better forms component.

This is the best form extension out there. If you want encrypted email - for cc info, etc. this makes it SO easy. The flexibility is astounding. Worth every penny. Phil's support is great - fast, helpful, etc. and he is very open to requests for additional functionality.

Mr Phil E Taylor is not only very scholary in his endeavors to provide such a fantastic extension to Joomla but also a gentleman in the assistance provided with a few set up problems that i encountered. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a custom forms solution for their joomla website as really, there is no better way of doing it.

Just recently did an update since my last purchase about a year ago… Thanks for the free update. Had issues getting the new version installed onto my joomla 1.5 site’s. I contact the support and received an email little less than an hour. I really appreciated the quick response to my issue. Anyhow I was address to a SSL site to submit my issues. After I’ve submitted the help form. Within less than 24 hours. They help fixed my issue free of charge.

I love the supports, I recalled about a year ago, I also had issue with installing this form for the very first time, i contacted the Support and received help just as quick and fast as today.

Beside great supports, This component is really easy to use and very effective for my site.

I wanted the ability to incorporate my form into a regular article. I tried a couple of other extensions that said they could do it, but I was unable to get them working. I took a look at the Blue Flame demo and saw that it would indeed do what I wanted and decided to purchase it. Excellent documentation, easy to implement, and within minutes, I had it on my site. Don't waste your time with other products - this one is superb! Thank you!

Firstly I would like to say that BF Forms is superb and allowed me to construct some amazing forms.
For this I would give 5 Stars.

Support is non existent, or to be fair I emailed a question to BF through the appropaite channel and two weeks later still no reply(Other than the auto-responder).
I understand you may be busy, but two weeks and no reply is in my opinion unacceptable.
For this I would give 0 Stars.

In Joomla 1.0 I used Phil-A-Form (also by Phil Taylor) and found it to be an easy way to create forms.

With Joomla 1.5 and Blue Flame Forms making forms is even easier, and a lot of tedious work has been automated.

You will not find an easier to use form generator.

I have been using this component for a couple of months. It is fantastic! I am required to build complicated forms and with this component it takes me an hour or so. The cost is so small considering the time and effort that goes into developing a component like this. I have no complaints about support at all. My emails were responded to quickly. For me it beats browsing through forums in any case.

I find the component installed easily, easy to set up and I love the admin panel. All Blue Flames components are robust and well developed.
