I bought this component a month ago and still trying to make it work properly. It seemed to be the best solution for my cause, a site just with polls, but i am not sure any more. I am not a programmer(have basic knowledge) and expected that it will work fully.

Con1.You can't add more than one module polls in the same page. I think that the product description is quite misleading on this part.

Con2.You can't add a poll from backend. You only can edit it. Here needs clarification to the technical specifications.

Con3.A lot of bugs, minor mostly. I feel like beta tester or something. I lost a lot of time, not to install it, but to make it work. Still trying. Many of the specifications doesn't work properly, such as the twitter connection, the shortlinks in bit.ly and others. If your site isn't in native English, think twice.

Con4.Not a pdf manual or something to read and understand how it works. There is a forum not active from the members but there is support from the development team.

Pro1.Excellent support from maverick, and this is the best part of this component. Maverick is there to solve the unsolved.

Pro2.Nice frontend environment.Goodlooking.

Overall. The component has great potential, i believe that at this particular moment is like a beta version-i know it isn't. I wouldn't recommend it if there wasn't the support of maverick.

This is a pretty good poll component, IF you're looking for a poll that's hosted by your Joomla site but displayed on some other site AND you only want to display a single poll on any particular web page. For my application, I need to display polls on the same site that hosts the polls component, AND I need to display more than one poll on a single page.

Pro: The best pie charts I've seen in any of the Joomla polls components (and I've experimented with a lot of the available components).

Pro: Supports voting on polls from other sites, by embedding a link to your Joomla site that hosts the poll. You can also display a single randomly-selected poll on the hosting Joomla site using the random-poll module.

Con: Only supports display of a single poll per page. This was a killer for my application as I need multiple polls per page.

Con: Can only create polls from the front-end. This requires the admin to create menus on the website for users to create the desired polls. For my application, I wanted the Admin to create/control all polls and didn't really want to modify my site to add poll-creation menus and pages to the front-end.

Overall: Not bad, but could be better.

I wish I could have made this component work for my application, but in the end the inability to display more than 1 poll on a page was a killer for me. In the end, I settled for the ACE POLLS component.

Man, I can honestly say you guys are probably the most knowledgeable people I have purchased a component from, everytime I have a problem, you guys seem to know the answer without having to ask for access to my backend, and always get the solution right on the first try. The Components are a little on the expensive end, but I can honestly say the support is five star. I would give it a five star but I think the price is a little on the high end. But that does not mean it is not a great component.

what is so strange about (Community Polls) is that u feel like u develop it and u own it. That's why u want it >>> flawless!
and to my baby CP i want to c u growing with more features and options like (show percentage only without number of votes) available to all the charts without code modifications...

This is my first review for any component on JED. This is a complete Polls component and I am already in process of launching a website purely based on Community Polls Component. I like the user interface and the embed feature the most, which makes this component different from others. Further, its integration with Jomsocial adds more value to enhance the website using community based polls.

CoreJoomla is the best developer I've worked with, and Community Polls is a great example of why. It looks great, works perfectly, has great documentation, fantastic support and just plain works.

The more I use Joomla the more I find it is worth paying for well-crafted extensions. The price of CoreJoomla's extensions is well worth it.

I have just downloaded and installed this on my events site and it is an excellent component. There are a variety of templates and it really enances my site. Very easy to create polls with a choice of bars or pie chart. Integrates well with Jomsocial and as written by other users their customer support is fast thanks to Maverick. Now to go back and get a few of their other components! Very professional.

I just purchased the complete package and really love it. It's great that it works with JomSocial and I really appreciate Mavericks support.

This component is good for a JomSocial site if you want users to be able to make their own polls.
I like the fact that it comes with so many additional plugins and moduls.

CoreJoomla has good and interesting softwares (same Community Polls) - and the support of Maverick is unique good !

So their commercial extension worth the price, no doubts.

after testing all kind of polls components and mods now i can say that community polls is the best till now.

I have been searching for a better solution for creating and managing polls on my site and now I've found it. Not only is their support excellent but the product provides exactly what I'm looking for including the ability to embed polls in other websites. With members able to create their own polls you now have a great tool to virally spread your website brand. Great work and a great component! Installation is straight forward and the interface is very clean - easy to use. The one thing I would like them to consider is a bundled package price for their other components. Thanks for this!

I wanted to have a dynamic polls directory and had spend lot of time on finding a suitable script before reaching polls Community Polls. I do not find there can be more useful option when it come to Polls. Unlike other extension of CMS around where only admin can create polls, the most compelling feature of Community Polls is that the site visitors can create polls as they wish. This makes it an outstanding script. Other options are no more applicable now.
Recommended.

Community polls is a great component, if your site is or will be a community.

With it, you and your users can create many polls of different topics.

One important thing is that it is live component. It have a excellent support and the author improve it each month with new features.
