I have been looking for a quiz extension for several hours until coming to this one.
Although I have not installed or used it really, I have been looking at the documentation and the demo and have to say it is very complete and simple to set up.
It is one of the rare extensions to support an explanation on the correct answer, which is really what I am looking for (it's an add-on to a musical magazine).
However, the price is quite high. 60 USD is more than the price of a whole template.
Also, does it support multi language? My site has to run in 4 languages as I am in contact with my users in those 4 languages.

This is a great extension and just what I was looking for to implement a couple of questionnaires to my clients site. One of which was quite complicated with questions divided in to different category scores.
Lots of improvements the the BF Quiz Plus version and the developer is very helpful with support.

This is a brilliant component with a very simple installation and configuration process.
I would absolutely be willing to pay for a pro version without branding and unlocked but not sixty bucks. A tad overpriced in my books.
Please let me reiterate that this component is brilliant, works perfectly, installs no problems and looks great. (Trial of pro component went fine)

We have a site for language teaching, so a quiz is a must for us.
We are sort of newbies in this all Joomla business, so it took some time to understand the full extent of this extension, we are still working on it, it is an excellent one, we have it operational already, and the best thing about it is that Tim is very attentive to answer all the questions we had.
Highly recommend this one, it was well worth the money.

Once you wrap your head around how BF Quiz works, it works pretty well. If only Moodle had such a flexible quiz program!
Two points to note: Create your categories, then your questions, then your question pool. THEN add a BF Quiz menu-item and note that ALL the important configuration is here, NOT in BF Quiz's Component menus. If you don't remember this and start hunting for the config knobs in Component, you won't find them. Within the BF Quiz Component, there should be a list of BF quiz modules currently in use in the menus, etc.
Secondly, the instructions recommend VARCHAR, but for what reason? 90% of the questions are going to be TEXT, so it should default to the TEXT option. Case in point: I'm bulding a True/False question bank, and the questions kept showing the radio button choices as "(O)1 (O)" instead of "(O)TRUE (O)FALSE". Then it dawned on me: using the VARCHAR setting caused SQL to recognize TRUE and FALSE as Boolean keywords. A non-programmer would most likely not have a clue about this distinction.
Setup your options as TEXT! Maybe even consider NOT giving the user a choice of how to store the data... I'll choose ease of use over efficient disk space any day.

You'll be pleased to know that since v1.4.3 the question type defaults to TEXT instead of VARCHAR. Advanced users still have the flexibility of changing the database field type to suit their specific needs.

Installed and looked good but the input was not sanitized causing quizzes to give wrong answers if there was a space after the question or if there was a ' in the question. I've moved on to another quiz component before the release of 1.4.1. Not even going to bother after seeing how many versions have the same bugs.

I've just tested apostrophe in a question and space after a question in the current version BF Quiz v1.4.2 and there is no problem.
If anyone does find an issue with the current version, please report it in our support forum or send me an email tim __at__ tamlyncreative.com.au
BF Quiz v1.4.x was a major release that fixed all the known issues in the previous versions including data sanitization, as well as introducing a number of frequently requested features such as random questions. Also a lot of the code was rewritten to improve code quality and other improvements such as the use of Eclipse IDE with SVN to version control the source. We've also adopted the practice of allowing others to beta test new versions prior to general release, so the release cycle is somewhat slower than last year, however the quality improvements make it all worthwhile.
The last major release was in December 2009. There was a minor release in May 2010 to address a specific security issue, but this was never intended to address other issues. I think your comment about issues spanning multiple versions is unfair, as all issues reported since 1.3.0 were fixed in 1.4.x.
I'd also like to point out that all updates are free, there are no subscriptions or expiry dates, so you will benefit from all future enhancements and fixes.
Had some problems with the program, but after some tweaking at there end - and talking back and forth from emails to the online forums got my problems solved..
Tim takes the extra time to help me get my Online Quiz up and running.. Very good company to deal with if you are looking for a Quiz program, and well worth the $60 it was to purchase it..

Had some problems with the trial version in relation to the template I was using, which Tim found out. Installed the full version and that, indeed, ran perfect.
So, if your trial doesn't function, contact Tim, don't give up.

I tried the program for a personality type quiz, and it was just what I needed. When I ran into an issue that was totally all my fault, Tim got back to me within 5 minutes!! My problem was fixed and I'm very pleased and impressed with BF softwares.
Incredible support and ease of use is SO important in a software, especially an extension, and if you're looking for both then definitely support this software.

I have tried some of the free quiz components and they are a mess compared to this. The few dollars this component cost me was nothing compared to the time I saved on setting it up.
I had a few things I wanted to change about how it displays the results and the support from Tim was great. Within 12-15 messages back and forward (this within 20-30 mins!!) I had it completely as I wanted.
The styling is easy to edit with the CSS file and Firebug.
I can highly recommend this module as it is by far the best for Jommla at the moment.

I bought the BF Quiz solution to make a Personality Test (a complex one) and had few troubles with a little bug, but the support I had from Tim was awesome. I'm a brazilian guy, and the distance wans't a problem. The fix to the problem came so fast that I couldn't believe. The Tamlyn's guys were very interested on helping.

The free trial version is essentially full feature except limited in the volume that can be processed, which makes much sense.
All important features are shown in the included demo. And everything works exactly as advertised - within minutes.
Upgrading to "real" version was painless and the only snags I hit were my own doing.
With top rated support, my problems were resolved overnight.
