This makes it possible to ping update services whenever you create a new article in a certain section. You can specify as many update services as you like, but we recommend that you stick to about 10 services to not slow down your article creating.
If you don't know what ping is, then you really missed something. This is something that almost every blogging plattform uses. A ping i basically a shout out to an update server, that your site has fresh content. The updateserver will then list your article automatically to it's blogpost listings.
Hopefully your ping will get You tons of new visitors, that you otherwise never would have reached.

This extension does what it says it does however for me as I often have lots of content with delayed publication dates it would be better if the ping was made when the articles go live and not when they are created.

I was concerned about the fact that my hosting company doesn't support xml-rpc, although they do support PEAR. So, I contacted Daniel and he responded promptly to inform me that the BlogPing plugin requires PEAR. With this good news I installed the plugin, followed the instructions, and after saving an article in the chosen section, Voila! -- there was a message on the screen informing me that pings were being forwarded to a number of services.
Thanks Daniel for a plugin that is straightforward, and works!

This extensions has helped me to publish my joomla! to many different ping services (i.e. Twingly is used by all newspapers in Norway). The plugin is easy to install and worked properly for me instantly. Recomended.

i love this extension wheres it minimizes the work of a blogger to publisize his writing. but many additions should be made and bugs to be executed to make this perrrfect!
