Component to allow your users to recommend, or invite, their friends to visit your website.
It can send multiple emails including a copy to the Administrator and/or the User. Front end appearance is completely configurable including form field widths and background and text colors! It incorporates Captcha Security to help prevent spam! There is also an option to send emails in Content-Type:text/html MIME format! ALL text for the entire component, front end and back, can be edited on-line in the Admin area of the site! And the component is XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid!
This component uses standard Joomla! JFactory Mailer functions - which should work if your website's email settings are correctly configured for your website server (i.e. Sendmail, PHPMailer, SMTP, etc).

-Set how many 'Email Fields' are displayed on the Front End.
-Select how the 'From' and 'Reply To' addresses are set.
-Set whether Admin should receive a copy (Bcc) of the email sent
-Change or customize the 'Subject' field for the emails.
-Set a customized introduction message for the emails sent to Friends
-Allow HTML code to be entered in the custom introduction - Including Images!!
-Form field validation through Javascript
-Set the name, email input field widths and user message textarea size
-Change the form field background and text colors
-Set/control the widths of ALL the form fields
-Captcha Security! *NOTE* Your server *MUST* have GD and TrueType Fonts!
-Customize Captcha font text and colors, noise, text rotation, etc.
-ALL text can be edited ON-LINE through the component!

This is by far the best recommend option for Joomla. I have tried most of the other extensions in the folder and none would have all the options I need.

This well contructed component employs the spirit of GNU, it has worked so well in my dev site that I know that as soon as I have it on my live site I will be desperate to make a donation.
The only niggle I have is that I want to limit it to registered users but the way to do that is via the Joomla Menus which means the user does not even see the menu. I would prefer a tick box in the config but I think I can get around it by using another great Dmack product (component in article).
It has great customisation albeit that I have not found how to reduce the number of borders used in emails.
The are only minor niggles, honestly this is a Superb component, so much better than the others I have tested that either don't work or leave all the functionality in a pro product.

This component is absolutely fabulous. It was well thought from the outset. It includes options that allow you great flexibility on the content, including subject of the messages.
Once you install it and configure it, you will realize that this component sets the pace for others to follow. As a matter of fact I totally like the clean interface. One thing that stands out is they do not put their info on the component front-end. This is a huge plus as it keeps the site clean and doesn't look like it has been built with lego blocks.
They also have other modules which are super. The quality of their programming is consistent through all their work, and that turned me into a fan already.
Language implementation works perfect out of the box (my website is in Spanish.)

These invite functions has always had trouble previously, normally conflicting with something else on the site.
So I wasn't really expecting this one to work either.
However, it's free etc, so I thought, I might as well try it out... and WOW it works!!! I was pretty amazed.
I am on a Windows 2003 IIS Server, and pretty used to these kind of components being aimed at Linux with little or no thought to Windows.
But this worked - as easy as everyone here says!
I am still not sure if I am going to use it though, but I still donated the 10 bucks they automate on their site, basically for a super nice job done.

This component installed and worked great but did not meet my needs as I was not able to change it so that the custom message came before the administrator message. It would also be nice if the option was available to show the admin message to the sender and allow them to change it if they so desired.
Fast, easy, does exactly what it says and has been completely idiot-proof (and I should know).
