I have only used the free version but can tell you that I love it. I opted to buy acajoom pro based on the price and the feature set and am very happy with it. Now with that said the top version of Acymailing does offer more features for more money but I did not need the full feature list. For example, the top version come with auto responder and bounce handling, I did not need the bounce at this time but did need the auto responder. In sum both these programs are great because I have used them and am very satisfied with them. I will probably buy the top version of this program for one of my websites.
I manage a professional standard mailing system as part of my job, so when I downloaded the free version, I expected to be severely limited.
The basic free version is exceptional. Very simple to use and well documented. I can mass-subscribe users myself, get them to create / log into their Community Builder account and develop a relationship with them afterwards. Extremely intuitive and highly recommended.
If you're running this professionally for clients, I would upgrade to the full version for high-level statistical analysis, cron jobs, campaign functionality and more.
The one word of caution I would say is that styling HTML emails for multiple browsers, webmails and Outlook 2007 (grr!) remains a horrible job whatever you use - don't blame this fantastic bit of software for that - you still need to know what you're doing!

This is my first time I write a review and that's because I'am very impressed about AcyMailing. The installation and the use are 100% free of errors or what so ever. The integration with my template(s) is perfect. I don't have to style anything afterwards and that makes me and my clients very happy! The translation to dutch is done very well. Compliments to your all.

I am using the Enterprise Version on 2 commercial sites very successful.
The features are excellent, like bounce handling, multilanguage support and export/import features. Very usefull I find also the statistics functions and integration with other products.
Adrian and his team is doing an excellent job responding within very short time supporting me to find all tricks and fixing some template issues.

Wow! For a free starter package, I wasn't expecting the package that I got! What a deal! And so intuitive, you can teach yourself in no time at all. I'm good with the starter package for now, but once I get some practice, I am sure I will be wanting to upgrade! Thanks, guys - killer extension!
There are lot of options! For example you can preview and test emailing before sending it! Simple to use and a good choice if you haven't got too much registers because there's no queue management in the free version.
On the other hand, the commercial one is not too expensive (about 30 euros) and give you some options.

Our free version also uses the queue to send e-mails.
It's done in a different way (there is no automatic processing on our free version) but you can configure a pause and start and stop the send process as you want (manually), even with our free version.
If anything goes wrong, AcyMailing will keep your e-mails in the queue and you will be able to resume the send process later.
Why did it take this long for someone to come along with a newsletter component that just works the way it should? From the purchase to the installation, to the day-to-day use, this is the best I've found.
That's not to say there isn't room for improvement, particularly in the CAPTCHA (commercial versions only), which is not very configurable.
It would also be nice if you could easily change the dates of created newsletters. That feature would be particularly helpful for designers putting older content into a new site design, or even into an existing site with AcyMailing setup for the first time.
It looks like the developer is regularly updating this component, and I look forward to advances down the line!

The captcha has been recently added to AcyMailing and you can already:
-> set its size
-> set the number of characters you want to display in it
-> specify a list of characters AcyMailing will use (so you can limit it to only numbers for example)
-> configure the background-colour
-> configure the text colour
Please write a post on our forum or send us an e-mail if you have more ideas so we can add it to our todo list!
I have tried several mail components for Joomla and found ACY to be the best, easy configuration and works seamlessly. Highly recommend it.
I echo the opinions given here. I was looking for a new mailing component to replace our old one which was not J1.5 native.
It has an extensive feature set and unlike many Joomla components has a clearly laid out and comprehensive support site. The developers have already added improvements to it. At the moment we have only used some of the features and am looking forward to using it more extensively.
So far highly recommended.

I downloaded this extension while in search of a newsletter program that was easy to use, but still looked good. Well, this is. It's very easy, it's easy to change the layout of the newsletter, it's easy to design it exactly the way I want it, and it looks great on top of it. So thank you for a great extension. Keep up the good work.
I had a little problem concerning the licens of acy-mailing when moving my site from one host to another. So I sent an e-mail to the acy-support and believe it or not... Within one minute the problem where solved without me doing a thing and my licenced worked!!
That must be a world record!

I don't write many reviews but my experience with AcyMailing really calls for one. This is probably one of the best Joomla extensions that I have ever used. The mailing system was easy to understand and setup, even without having to refer to the EXCELLENT documentation. If you are looking for a full-functioned newsletter extension, I don't believe you can find one that is any better.
