I only struggeled fist with the WYSIWIG Editor. I´ve installed the JCE Editor and it was not working with Acajoom News (no editor at all edit pages.) Then I installed the FCK Editor as recommendet. So done - I was really surprised! The JCE Editor was suddently working correctly as well. I don´t know why, but I was happy, so I´ll have to manage only one WYSIWYG Editor on our Homepage.
This is the only point I was missing: Better Information and compatibilty regarding the usage of different editors.
Sadly the failure to respond to this issue by Acajoom has brought my rating of the component lower than it needs be.
Come on guys you have a good component lacking basic signup protection
The Bad Behavior plugin offers a very good protection against spam attacks without the need of a captcha system...

The only thing I would like to see is the confirmation message to be placed on top of the page instead of on top of the main body. It's just that I have very long content on user1 and user2 of my template. People may not know to scroll far down to see the confirmation after they have subscribed.
If I can get any advice on how to change it, that will be brilliant.
Congratulations and thanks again for a wonderful extension.
Maybe one solution would be to redirect the user to your own confirmation page (you can find the option in the Acajoom module)...
The price for the Pro version is worth it. For what you get in the free version is worth the price of the Pro. Although I highly recommend the Pro version - the free version is powerful!
I did test it though and sent the newsletter to 2 of my emails. It was great and they looked professional. I just changed the header to include my logo.
However, I left a message at the Component Forum Boards, and it was replied within moments. Adrien asked me to give him more information about the version and such, and also asked me if I had tried from FireFox.
Before replying to him again, I did try from FireFox and everything works top-notch.
It's a great component, it's supported by an excellent marketing and user's support system and you can be sure that any problem you have, will be attended.
Contrary to other experiences I had with other components and extensions, the Acajoom team obviously care for their product and know how to sell it.
If am using teh free version for now, but I wouldn't doubt buying it when the volume of work with newsletter increases in the site I'm using it at.
It also has a front end where you can subscribe to different lists. The only problem I had was with dissappearing sub menus.
If I link the component in main menu under Contact -> Newsletters on my site, the link goes to a subscribe form. Once the user has subscribed they're presented with a list of newsletters, however the newsletter subnavigation link dissappers. This may be a Joomla thing, but it meant I didn't use it. I used Communicator instead which did't loose the sub navigation, however this only has one list and was quite basic. If they fix this issue it would greatly improved.
Since Acajoom 3.0.4 (September, 22 2008), Acajoom is fully compatible with Joomla 1.5 native... (and still works with Joomla 1.5.x using legacy or Joomla 1.0.x)
We updated the thing! ;)
My hat off to the team at Acajoom and I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to build a subscription based newsletter.
Read carefully!
No 'Send' option for administrators through the frontend! The ability to edit through the front is useless if you have to enter the backend in order to send the newsletter.
As a solely backend application the component is GREAT!
